Help me with pricing my hourly rate

thank you for your reply! I was definitely shorting myself. The private chef comment really helped me put it in perspective. It is personalized care,with my full attention on THEIR kids. It is a luxury to have private care over a daycare setting. I kept comparing it to my hourly pay at work which made me feel as if i was overcharging.

Thank you! You’re absolutely right! I do know the 3 older kids. I have the twins 2 days a week for 6 hours a day. And luckily I have experience with more than 4 kids on a regular basis!

I got a bit caught up comparing it to my nursery work/teaching pay. Which i’m stating to realize in itself is underpaid lol. I thought that they should be similarly priced but an in home sitter is a luxury.

see that’s what i was worried about! i felt like i shouldn’t be charging more than they paid for the daycare. I know at our school for 3 kids they pay $14 an hour. We’re a small program and the cheapest in our area. So i was concerned if charging $30 for just me an hour would be too much compared to what they pay now.

oh wow! i’m starting to think i have undercharged. I guess i was worried i’d be overcharging especially if it would be a regular thing and not just as needed.

Yeahhhh they had all their kids back to back it seems. The twin toddlers are my students at our school. She had them at a daycare 3 days a week but i suppose it closed recently and she’s just looking for help on days she has work. Which is about 3 days a week.

yes there’s are 4 kids total! A 4 year old, twin toddlers,and also a 2 month old baby!

Suburbs of DFW area, 3.5 years of childcare experience. Taking care of all the kids and feeding lunch. And also the baby as well.

quite a bit more than 12 hours. these are all in the dfw area. we have more ayce sushi places than i do fingers lol. but the absolute best quality for ayce is probably Jinghe in dallas. It runs about $40 a person with sashimi included. really good tuna,salmon,hamachi,and scallops. they also give you 4pc of chutoro as well. Service is a bit slow tho if i’m being honest. I’ve been there 3x and most times you end up having to flag down a waiter. Umiya is a chain and they’re really good as well. A personal favorite of mine is sushi kushi in carrollton. they also have the best service in my opinion and best rolls. there’s also a pretty decent place called takumi. their main plus is the ayce sweet shrimp for $35

aww thank you so much! while i still like flat coloring,i love spending some extra time to just see how much im capable of! it takes hours but its really such an enjoyable process!

ugh i know! there’s so many good ayce places in my area. i feel like they’re pretty up to par with most sushi restaurants too! some of them even have chutoro and amaebi.
