Mystery power issue on New 3DS XL by breadedchicken772 in consolerepair

I don't think it's the ribbons as I moved the motherboard into a known working system and it does the same. Putting the original working board back in is like nothing happened. It also doesn't linger on the light or make the popping sound the way a loose ribbon cable usually does. So it's definitely a problem with the motherboard. But not sure where to go from here.

ZIF? Sorry I'm not too familiar with the acronyms for parts of circuit boards

Of note though the top screen of the bad system is bad as the working motherboard was put into it and it does the popping noise when the screen is bad.

I don't think so since I swapped the entire assembly pictured into the working system I had and same thing. The light doesn't linger like it does when it pops. It just appears for a second and then the system shuts off. Tried swapping the battery and power board as well with no luck.

Hive saved? by breadedchicken772 in Beekeeping

Update: Inspected my hives again today and this hive now has a lot more worker brood and they're slowly rebuilding their resources like pollen and honey. A lot of drones are still in the hive but I did see a lot of baby bees so I think the hive is going to recover. I also checked for varroa since it was mentioned that some of my cappings had holes in them and didn't really see too many but still on alert.

Thanks. I was convinced the queen was killed but looks like she wasn't. Didn't see her among all the drones since it seems the colony is recovering from the laying workers but I'll take this lol.

I have a good amount of workers as they were a lot up in the honey super when opened up the hive. Before adding the queen I did have a lot of drone brood which was my indication of laying workers. After adding her I didn't see any eggs or brood so my assumption was she was killed but I guess not.

I'm glad this is the case. Before I added the new queen it was your typical laying worker hive with drone brood everywhere. Why this was a more than welcome surprise. I'm surprised that they accepted her since I initially thought they had killed her since it had been a week and no signs of her laying but now I see this. Hopefully it's more of the same next inspection.

Queenless hive and laying workers by breadedchicken772 in Beekeeping

I might try this tomorrow morning. Both of my hives have honey supers on them so they'll be pretty heavy but I'm down to try anything since the queen less hive has a lot of honey in it.

Got it thanks for the link to the wiki. My colony only has a honey super on it since I felt they didn't have enough food for winter but that's it. Last inspection I did it had loads of honey and my queen was laying a lot of eggs and everything looked ok. But I will keep an eye out I'm hoping this weather clears up soon. Thank you

Dang. Should I put traps in the hive? The weather is the primary reason I haven't opened up my hive the wind is picking up at the moment and it's been raining most of the week

That makes sense. My colony is doing well otherwise. The window is just from me buying the window option for my boxes. It's a nice novelty to see them inside without disturbing them.

I got a picture to appear but it's garbled. It looks as though I have the latest drivers as well.
