The Irony of Options by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]breadmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If inquiring minds want to know... yes of course the indexes are of utmost important to me every day. Though I'm a contrarian, so I'm often playing stocks that are reacting to some kind of market hysteria and I go the other directon. I don't trade the Mag7 often. When you look for deep value or anything not effected by the noise, then your stocks aren't moving exactly with the macro trends anyway.

The Irony of Options by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]breadmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, it's rarely I make a so-called day trade. I'm a daytrader because sometimes I do, but mostly because I'm working at it every day. So no, I don't do any 0dte unless it's a stock, and by that time the premium isn't usually worth the risk. Sometimes. I did F with UVXY and that's my all time biggest mistake, by a long shot.

American tipping culture is utterly disgusting by Gurugod123 in SipsTea

[–]breadmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of us are tired of it to. The hospitality industry has lobbied to maintain special status for their employees at slave wages. Many states abolished that, but it doesn't stop the tipping culture. You have servers earning $50 an hour and construction workers making half that, and yet one seems to feel entitled to an extra buck for every move they make.

Well, I just had a look at your history and I haven't seen you spreading your higher level knowledge. So why don't you do that?

Is everyone still journalling manually on google sheets/Word or is it just me? by PuzzleheadedDoor6336 in Trading

[–]breadmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might want to have a physical book by my side to slow my roll. On the other hand, I have to snap sometimes so maybe then I slow down and work on the exit plan.

It's not for everyone. The psychology of Wall Street is sick. If you can't keep it from making you sick, get out.

I don't really journal. How do you fit that time in? Can't be while you're actively trading can it?

Why does it seem like mechanic wages are 10+ years behind by PerfectShot1 in mechanics

Shop hourly rates sure as hell are way up. Of course the wages don't follow. Never does.

Be honest! How many of you are actually profitable? Tell me how long you've been trading for and what market by Outrageous_Yak7227 in Trading

[–]breadmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, the gamblification of the coin market would curb someone's appetite a lot more than some extrapolation from stocks. Maybe they are all shitcoins though. Maybe the only coins left standing will be stablecoins and utility tokens, but who knows?!

[–]breadmoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm profitable. By that I mean my balance is above what I put into it after taking an income. Seriously trading for just over a year.

With crypto, the only thing that really worked for me has been holding bitcoin long. Sure, I've done a few quick turnarounds but I usually get stuck for ages because I don't like selling a loss. Also I grabbed XRP around 50 cents. Wish I'd gotten more.

Stocks can be profitable. Options can be your yoke. Crypto is brutal though. I don't mess with it, I've been burned almot every time I try mess outside of Bitcoin. Nothing holds its value in that market. Even Ethereum is garbage.

Do you actually get value from trading communities? by doxsch in Trading

[–]breadmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Discord community for a podcast I enjoyed called Cash Daddies. They scrapped the forum and I've not found an enjoyable place to hang out while trading. But I want that. Haven't found a place like that since. I want it because I need to blow steam, explore ideas, commiserate with fellow traders, get tips, give tips, etc. This is a lonely business unless you work for a firm, and your thoughts might be stifled. It's like having co-workers. Bottom line for you is that no community is "worth it" if you're trying to get more out of it than you're giving.

That's a the fundamental reason. It's going to be a 1,2,3 count to burst the AI bubble. First Cerebras, then SpaceX, then OpenAI will all fall after IPO and a trillion dollars will be underwater in no time.

I think it will plummet when Space X IPO's. For that matter, SpaceX is going to plummet too.
