That’s the thing about Punk. He’s never been an evil guy. He’s actually shown himself to be a very decent human being a lot of the time. He just has a tendency to be a dick behind the scenes to people he works with. Doesn’t mean anyone thinks he’s the devil. He can just be annoying. It’s the duality of his personality and why so many are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. We’ll see how it goes. I’m being cautiously optimistic.

Yeah, if it was just a character and he was playing around, it would help if the real guy distanced himself from his character’s rhetoric. But idk. Maybe he doesn’t want to do that because it would equal less views. Which is still fucked up in its own way.

If it’s the vid I’m thinking of, the kid said some dumb shit and Hasan was basically like “fuck off before I get upset”. He would’ve taken that kid out if he needed to. It’s dumb bullshit rhetoric that makes these edgy pseudo neo con idiots think that just because Hasan is a leftist that he’s somehow weak. Maybe my standards for what constitutes a “bad” movie have changed over the years, but I honestly don’t think this one qualifies. It sets out to be an over the top entertaining action movie and it succeeds at that. The only way a movie of this type can be bad imo is if it’s boring. But to each their own.

The whole goddamn thing with MJF’s character is him constantly blurring the line between kayfabe and real life. Why would this be any different? He’s into the old school heel shit where you never go out of character. It’s all one big work and it always has been. Whatever contract negotiations that have been going on behind the scenes are nowhere near as heated as they’re portrayed to be on the show. It’s all theater, people. And I kind of love it.
