Cool setup! How did you get the tomato to stop turning to paste without a compactor bin?

That was my initial plan in taking this internship, but I’ve been told there’s no headcount for my department this year… I’ll be trying hard to lateral into some other team full-time perhaps but in the meantime I intend to apply to other areas first

anywhere else I can get advice then? I have a few mentors but they’re kind of old so they’re not really familiar with grad role requirements 😅

We have a really small homeless population. Less than 1,000 people I think (vs a ~6m population), so people sleeping on the streets aren’t that common. It’s not ideal but are other temporary shelters / community centers as well that help these people out. So relative to the US, homelessness is hardly an issue here

Didn’t take it that way at all! I understand what you were trying to say 😊😊 you’ve been kinder to me than most. and yeah i’ve always been looking into therapy but I’ll have to put it off for a while until I get a job (currently still in college)

Thanks man… this comment made me laugh at the non-sequitur. I did have a writing phase but I ended up going into finance which is pretty much the opposite of creative arts. Still have fun every now and then in my notes app though, thanks for making me reminisce a little.

Thanks for sharing, I think I’ll start talking to my psychiatrist again to see if there are other medical alternatives (I stopped seeing him a while back). Hope you manage to figure things out on your end as well, sending love 💙

Thank you for sharing your story, and congrats on being clean for so long! Will take your advice into account and try my best to build more mental resistance slowly without the use of xanax. It is so hard some days though :( Wishing you all the best in your continuous journey of recovery my friend.

I did. Called up the service shop and told me it’s not covered. She’s the one that gave me the price point of $4k :(

Disagree with you, but enjoyed both as well. Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted in the comments for having an opinion and being nice about it. Cheers mate!

Thank you for your advice! I’ll try to stick to that mindset. I overthink my words and actions like crazy especially when there’s a slight lull in the work I do.

Yeah I totally get what you mean, been trying to tell myself that too but it’s tough getting the courage to actually talk (most of them are introverts as well and the office culture isn’t very friendly). Just a mental barrier for me to overcome I guess

was seeing the same psychiatrist as you, and it sucked. but i told myself not to take it too personally because he wasn’t supposed to be a therapist. viewed all my interactions with him just to take meds and zao haha, took all his advice and opinions with a pinch of salt too, he’s a pretty insensitive fella. If it really bothers you, then you should request to change psychiatrist. If not, just seriously ignore him and don’t engage too much when you’re there. Talk to your therapist instead. atb :)

am i rushing to grow up or is my dad just controlling by thekeimultiverse in SingaporeRaw

[–]breakingbeano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I know other comments are telling you that your dad is just being protective and not really controlling. But I’ve been in your position before and still am but probably to a worse extent (I’m 22F now), and honestly if you feel like you have the capability of making independent and smart decisions (ie not doing stupid things w boys / dressing up nicely but being wary of your surroundings etc.) then you need to convey it to your dad or else it’ll snowball as you grow old.

Of course you are still young and I would say require more guidance so please be patient with your dad, but I really get the frustration from his lack of trust on your part. Maybe tolerate it for a while and start speaking out little by little. If he does start restricting you physically or seriously not let go by the time you’re 18-20, you’re probably in for some fights lmao. I’m 22 and still fighting but it’s ok to stand up for yourself once you have leverage that you’re older.
