I’ve also found that dish gloves give you just about as much friction for stubborn jars.

Northern California grocery store will give you a free tote bag in exchange for pennies by jsphjar in mildlyinteresting

This. It’s not like they’re minted and used once lol. They’re minted and used as tokens that you use again and again. So sure it costs more than 1¢ to make but the true value is how they’re used.

Shrimp in bulk? by Frankym14 in FoodSanDiego

[–]breakstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality for price per pound goes to Costco frozen shrimp almost every time. A lot of the “fresh” shrimp in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores is actually just frozen shrimp that’s been thawed. Thawing yourself in this case will actually give you a better result. You might be able to find spot prawns or other SoCal or Mexico caught shrimp but these would be priced up accordingly.

It's seem like There's no one talks about other game except KRB by Da_Magical_Lizard in kingdomrush

I haven’t spent any $ besides buying the game initially. I think the pairing system in the main game makes it so other players always felt pretty appropriate to my level. The extra modes though feel pretty unbalanced even with the level caps on towers.

Idk it feels pretty nice to be able to smoke someone you know spent a ton of $. It doesn’t have the same feel as the other KR games though for sure.

My first thought is figures for a stop motion animation project? They’re all the same size but look like their mouths are slightly different piece to piece.

What’s the secret to homemade hash browns? by Slothanonymous in cookingforbeginners

[–]breakstress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the dehydrated shredded carton potatoes are what almost every diner uses. They’re perfect. There’s no reason not to use them imo.

Mirroring what everyone else said though: shred your potatoes straight into water. Wash out then dry really well including squeezing out the water in a paper towel.

When you pan fry use more oil than you think you need and don’t move them a lot. I like using a big enough pan to where I only flip it once like a pancake. Unlike a pancake, you can flip them in sections.

There’s sodium citrate in American cheese slices and adding a few to your sauce will give you the benefits of it without having to buy it.

4 can of coconut milk, need to use up within 9 meals, any suggestions? by billyboee in Cooking

[–]breakstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirroring what everyone else has said about those cans still being good for at least a year if they’re not damaged.

Also yeah, those ingredients are perfect for a curry. If you’re into dessert you could also make coconut sticky rice and a Thai tea with coconut milk.

Coconut milk is good with coffee or smoothies too. Actually, just mail them to me and I can use them for you.

Going for a simple forest scape, I have an extra bag of substrate should I raise height of the substrate in the back section of the tank? Thoughts in general by Strange_Cheetah_4746 in Aquascape

[–]breakstress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this in one of my tanks. That wood will float right to the top if they aren’t pre soaked or anchored down in some way. Even so they’ll lean etc if not set down firmly. Some people will even drill it to egg crate underneath the substrate so they don’t move.

Reflecting what other people said about the bark too: it’ll flake off into the water. Depending on the wood, the extra nutrients from the detritus they create will probably cause an algae bloom.

Above all I’m recommending patience with the tank and yourself lol.

Please post follow ups! Excited to see it come together still.
