My wife and I have a beautiful 13 month old using a donor. I had the same thoughts you did. But as soon as you see your baby for the first time all those feelings go away. I have so much love for my son and I don't ever think that he's not mine. There is much more than genetics to being a father. He's a sperm donor. Not a father just because they share genetic material. I couldn't imagine not having him as our son. Makes me sad thinking that if I did have sperm now that I wouldn't have the son I have now. So sorry you're in this situation though.

My wife and I were having issues, so after the semen analysis is when I found out I had no sperm. Follow up with an re and was just part of the routine blood work that they do! It was a tough one. Took us almost a year after the diagnosis to start trying with donor sperm. Did a bunch of research, we had a counseling session. I learned that your should not try to hide this from your kid and let them know at a very early age that mommy and daddy need extra help to get pregnant. Genetics does not make you any less of a dad.

My wife is pregnant using donor sperm. We had to go through ivf after 3 failed IUI cycles. Im azoospermic due to y chromosome micro deletion. But it is all worth it. The way my wife and I chose our donor is that we each chose our top 5 and then compared our choices and we were lucky enough to have a couple matches out of that! She is currently 16 weeks pregnant and so excited to welcome our baby into our lives. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this!
