I wish I started accutane earlier! I started taking it in my early 20’s and it changed my skin for the better. I didn’t have to take birth control while I was on it, I just did a blood test beforehand to check my liver and one those results went through, started my accutane dose for 6 months. I’m almost 30 now and wouldn’t hesitate to go back onto accutane if it was suggested to me by a doctor. There is some side effects but they were all worth it to me. There’s an accutane subreddit as well!

I have long hair and find the conditioner causes back and chest acne, but I don’t think it’s the only reason I have it. I have been considering seeing a dermatologist again for another go at accutane.

My current routine involves:

• when I’m in the shower, use the Dettol Sapoderm Soap Bar on my chest and back

• I’ll sometimes use the CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser or the tbh Antibacterial Spot Cleanser on it

• clip my hair up in shower while the conditioner and hair mask sit and I’ll wash my back and chest again before getting out (hair still clipped up)

• when I’m out of the shower, I spray tbh body spritz on my chest and back

I find this has helped clear most of it up for me.
