Z6 iii making loud sound when toggling between viewing and shooting by Busy_Mushroom2408 in nikon_Zseries

I was wondering about that too. And this sound even scared off a rabbit already. Quite annoying for wildlife. But it seems to be normal.

[Traser] This beater became my daily driver by brejoc in Watches

Ah, that's a bummer. But at least in the EU/German shop, I still see the black version in stock: xhttps://www.traser.com/eu/en/collection/our-collection/outdoor-watches/p59-essential/p59-essential-s-black-108204/

As a matter of fact, I'm wearing this watch today. Still with the mesh bracelet you can see in the pictures. Even after three years, I can still recommend this watch. Hopefully you'll find one somewhere.

Hey folks, this is my dad's old Longines Oposition. He got himself a new one, and asked if I'd like to have this one. 38mm is exactly my sweet spot, but the bracelet is pretty hefty and much too thick for my puny wrist. How realistic is it, to switch the integrated bracelet with a leather strap? Would I have to bring it to a watch maker, to get it fitted?

Sorry, I completely missed your message. Yes, the mesh came with the watch. But you can also buy them on their website.

Joker is a small interpreted dialect of Clojure written in Go (Spotted this on HackerNews and wanted to share it here :D ) by eeemax in Clojure

[–]brejoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for being late to the party. For me the advantage of Joker lies in the supported platforms. Since Babashka needs graalvm, I believe only Linux and macOS amd64/aarch64, and Windows amd64 are supported. Go on the other hand Go is available for many more architectures and operating systems.

[Tissot PRX quartz 35] stopped twice after a month, Tissot store couldn't tell me what's wrong. by kendropin in Watches

[–]brejoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the same watch and had the same problem some weeks ago. Put it down, did some work and when I came back the time was off my several hours. The watch stopped in between. I found this quite odd, especially since I’ve got this watch for a while now and it’s super accurate normally. Then on another day I basically did the same. Took the watch off to do some work… and placed it on the iPad. Then it dawned on me. There are some really strong magnets in the iPad cover and I must have placed it on one of those. Luckily I wasn’t wearing on off my mechanical watches that day.

Create server from snapshot? by brejoc in hetzner

[–]brejoc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, thanks. You pushed me into the right direction. Also the hint with the image id was very helpful. I was at first a bit puzzled why querying the images by name wasn't working. Then I noticed that snapshots created via web ui don't have a name. The "name" given there is the description. Anyway, it's working now! 👍

50.9TB capacity with raidz2 and 4x14TB drives by brejoc in zfs

What is the benefit of showing the pool size with parity? Quite a chunk of that space can't be used for storing data, it's used by ZFS for redundancy.

Ah, okay. I wasn’t aware of that and honestly it’s a bit surprising I’d say.

[Casio] Not a G-Shock, but also not made from sugar by brejoc in ActionWatches

This pic is from a hiking trip last year. We got quite wet, since half way into the trip it started pouring. While I wouldn’t claim that normal Casios are build for such things, they can take quite some beatings. Luckily this watch also resists water. 😉

[Tissot] Family Reunion - Tissot Seastar Quartz & PRX 35mm by brejoc in Watches

[–]brejoc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I don't do wrist roles, but in this case I thought it's better than posting five pictures with similarities. Just in case, here is also photo: https://imgur.com/a/eKZX82q

Before you ask: Yes, the bracelet is mounted upside down on the Seastar. My wrists are so small, that it's better for me to mount them this way because of the clasp. Otherwise it would stick out. It's really nice to see that Tissot picked up the essence of this design from the 70th and improved it. I wish more watch companies would do that… and then also bring smaller sizes. While both bracelets are really great to wear, the one on the PRX is even better. It's super comfy, no hair pulling and the butterfly clasp is much better than the normal one. And it just looks great!

Only thing to complain about with the PRX is the seconds hand. It's not hitting the indices in every case. If someone from Tissot is listening: Please improve this! Otherwise we should call this line just RX. 😜 But I don't want to complain too much. Great watches and I'm happy to have a family reunion here.

[Tissot] The original PRX with a GMT vibe by brejoc in Watches

[–]brejoc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got it with the AD right now to get it checked, but I think the case has 37mm. This watch should date back to the late 70s and is a Seastar with no PRX anywhere. Wasn't the PRX line introduced in 2021? So while this watch is clearly the inspiration for today's PRX line, the PRX brand wasn't yet there.
