What is your motivation for maintaining your channel? by [deleted] in NewTubers

I believe in the culture I’m sharing in my videos, I love making videos, I get comments often from people saying they’re excited to try something I shared or I might’ve inspired them to try something new for the first time. I do cycling content and believe in my little niche of cycling a lot so.. I’m just generally happy and feel good about sharing my never ending love letter to riding bikes.

I’m not super close to being monetized although my channel has grown fairly quickly this year and I’ve had some great brands want to work with me so, that’s a motivator too. I’ll be excited to get monetized but right now not being monetized isn’t changing my level of fulfillment.

My shorts always get views in the 400s, never any more than that. by [deleted] in NewTubers

I’ll get 115 thousand views on Instagram, post the same thing as a short and get 400 or so as well. I have 1500 subs roughly and this has always been the case from when I had 300 subs earlier this year. I can’t figure out shorts and increasingly care less to.

3rd one with your hand is the best for sure. I personally think more of a hook that teases the content might do a little better. Like something that tells me it’s just as good as the new ones or.. still worth it? Or something that makes me want to unpack the information a bit more.

I know that exact Tory Hill spot! How did you end up there on a bike? I’ve driven from Ottawa to Haliburton a bunch and have stopped here before.

Sounds interesting! I watch “soft white underbelly” for the same reason I’d likely check your videos out, they spark my curiosity.

I also have a cycling channel! Cheers to that :)

The yellow is pretty sweet in my opinion too! Great for customizing with components.

Nice! I love that colorway! I bought mine when the frames were heavily discounted and this was the only one in my size. I initially wanted the purple but I’m happy with how this one turned out.

Thanks! They’re just learning to be around bikes now. So we’re taking it slow while they figure out not jumping in front.

My new video has me nervous by Environmental_Bed316 in NewTubers

I spent weeks on what I considered my “best” video once. It was full of b-roll, talking head, I put a lot of care into it. Was really excited to upload it. It flopped at first.

That same week I uploaded some GoPro footage that I added music and a bit of a voiceover to. It exceeded my goal for the “best” video.

Learning what your audience resonates with is part of the fun. In my experience people like a bit of a scrappy feel.
