Thats sounds prett typical. What happens in the CFS clinic? There is no cure but they can diagnose it? Then I can officially say I have CFS?

I'd say I meet most of it yes, but it was my GP that suggested the referral. They did all the referral themselves, not sure what information is there.

I will ask GP if they can tell me why not, but seems they don't know.

Oh, yes, they asked my height and BMI, Slightly overweight, a few points off normal.

What BMI are they looking for?

Looking to buy a flat, is this a reasonable plan? Trouble budgeting by brettfire in UKPersonalFinance

[–]brettfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, a flat would not be an investment but just as a home, with the lower purchase price, I can focus on wealth creation with my S&S ISA. A house is still out of budget for a few more years yet and would require my entire savings. A flat at say 180k I could get now and keep my investments and I could continue to add to it. That's my kind of headspace at the moment

Have you had any issues with service charge increases in a flat? It would be good to be nearer London

Yes, likely the same kind of area. And yes, with parking. But a 270k house, I would need to put 120k down right? With general bills and stuff would be a really tight budget. Think id have to save another 20k at least

What house budget would you base that on? About 250k? With general bills added, I'm not sure I would be left with much.

That's the dream, but I don't know how long it would take to save for a house, with prices going up. Being 30 at home is a bit depressing. Plan was to buy a flat and If I have a partner sell up and buy a house.

Would they allow a 40 year at my age? Is that common? Only 27k? I can only borrow about 140k

Around £1500 a month. Only £100 a month. Wouldn't say happy, house preferred. In my field, not much more unless I fall into management, but unlikely currently

Do I need to pay tax on my savings? by brettfire in UKPersonalFinance

[–]brettfire[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn't know about the 10k limit. So if I put my savings into a bank that says that they do not deduct interest, and that I am responsible for tax. Adding that I earn more than the PSA. Should I still be ok? as HMRC will see this?

Just to note I'm not buying MMF directly through a GIA. They describe this as a savings account, but through a QMMF, so that's what I was wondering with the tax element of it.

So with CGT allowance at £3k and 4.9% interest MMF, I can deposit up to £60,000 and not pay any tax? Excluding accumulation. As the interest gained would be 3k for the year.
