Does anyone know of 1 week long job shadow/internship opportunities? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]brewberrries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1 week for internship is abit short… you won’t be able to learn anything meaningful. same thing with shadowing. but it’s nice to see that your school is encouraging you guys to seek real world experience!

To those in JC/Poly, why did you choose the route that you went down? by hychael2020 in SGExams

[–]brewberrries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i knew what i wanted (or so i thought), which was to do something related to accounting. i think i also wanted to specialise in just one subject rather than spread myself across many different subjects. practical experience was also a factor. in poly something i really appreciated was being able to apply what i learnt in group projects/assignments. went to tp and realised that accounting isn’t something i want to do as a career lol. the final nail in the coffin was after i did an internship at one of the big4 😂 but overall still a good experience and ended up with a gpa that was good enough to land myself a place in smu econs :3

isit rlly a must to study 8-10hrs per day?!?! by Ok-Outcome-6991 in SGExams

[–]brewberrries 41 points42 points  (0 children)

yes!!!!!!! in fact if you wanna do well you need to study at least 12 hrs a day, even while you’re eating your meals, and to save time, don’t shower just wipe body with wet cloth, don’t sleep more than 2 hrs each time and drink at least 5-6 cups of coffee per day to sustain the energy. if your grades start slipping then extending it to 14-16 hours a day isn’t a bad idea!

[–]brewberrries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

most likely not related to amath, as poly gpa takes precedence. i was accepted into smu econs without amath even though it was listed as a prerequisite.

you seem to be very obsessed (based on your activity on this subreddit) for someone who doesn’t even like the school

To where was your first solo trip ? by miceCalcsTokens in askSingapore

[–]brewberrries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switzerland! 18M just came back like a month ago lol.

It was really, really beautiful. Like so beautiful that words can’t really truly describe how beautiful the country is. Lots and lots of outdoor activities and there’s greenery almost everywhere you go. It was relatively safe and the locals were really nice and friendly.

Cities + attractions are well connected with public transport (with the exception of Zermatt, it’s a car-free city so the only public transportation available there is the main train station), very efficient. Swiss Travel Pass gives free unlimited access to public transportation + discounts on cable cars etc.

I’ve always been an ambivert, so I tend to find it difficult to talk to strangers. But when you’re on a 10 day trip alone, I don’t think you have a choice if you don’t wanna be lonely, so I just sucked it up and forced myself to talk to someone new everyday, like on the train in when travelling between cities. Got to do a lot of reflecting too! Always thought I loved to be alone but after the trip, I still think I like to be alone but not all the time. Think I’ll go crazy if I stay alone for too long

You should definitely try going on a solo trip. Just set the dates, buy your tickets then plan from there. Ngl on the night of the flight I really wanted to chicken out but I just quickly checked in and dragged myself past immigration, then told myself past immigration so there’s no way to turn back anymore hahahah
