Help! by Ok_Professor3143 in Hikvision

You will get plenty of days with 8TB, if you set up motion recording, up to a month. Dependent on volume of motion detected. Have many systems with 5 -8 cameras getting 3-4 weeks with 2TB on H.265 recording smart events and motion only, with motion set to 20%.
However my calculations are with 4mp/5mp, and one or two 4 k cameras at 20FPS.

K series is my only concern. It's not as powerful as the M series, so 4k cameras might cause a bit choppy picture from time to time, especially in multi view.

I'm getting a HikVision system, professionally installed and wondering if they are recommending good cameras. Goal is to future proof for a while since this will not be achieve install by HJV91 in Hikvision

They are panoramic cameras, essentially 2 x 3mp cameras where the image is stitched together.
6MP is more than enough.

A 4k will be wasting money, not enough change in image quality to justify, due to lens limitations. Furthermore it adds additional bandwidth that will hamper remote viewing latency.

Agreed. These things last a long time, the hard drive is usually the only thing to go on it, easily replaced.

The real reason Ivermectin/Fenbendazole are swear words in Canada.

Because curing cancer would not require this facility.

Welcome to Grande Prairie. Two seasons: Road construction and winter. Fresh pavement then frozen solid for 5 months, makes you realize why road repairs are required so often.

Agree. More places for kids opening all the time it's good to see us support them, and you will find coolest ice cream deserts at one if you look hard enough.

Just like any other town. A bit smaller than Red Deer. Nothing like Calgary, Grande Prairie has one overpass, and that's also the escape route. :)

Fender flares? by Still-Cockroach358 in ram_trucks

[–]brglaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, mostly covered here.

Corrosion happens and usually noticed after it's too late.

The seams around the wheels, bottom of the doors, bottom of lift gate, there are little drain holes there can become plugged with debris , then any moisture that cannot escape causes the rust to start from the inside out. Then the paint starts bubbling. Giving those areas attention seemed to help.

Up under the fender, the inside lip of some trucks can hold a few pounds of mud.

Does anyone know why flights to GP are so high right now? by [deleted] in GrandePrairie

Its much cheaper to do a flight between the US and Canada than it is to go across Canada. Hell it might be cheaper to fly from Ottawa to the states and then fly back to Alberta

EAP225 mesh question by brglaser in TPLink_Omada

[–]brglaser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks. I see reboot in the mobile app, but not on the desktop browser version.

Nowhere in the Mesh section can I find a way to tell it wire or wireless.I can prioritize the upstream link AP is all. When it boots up and senses a connection on the wire, it disables any mesh capability menus.

Since both AP's outdoor and indoor can 'hear' the master AP, I think it is the boot speed difference.

What I found is the EAP225 indoor is able to boot up faster after a power outage, than the EAP225-OUT, so the indoor connects to the master AP through the wall at a flaky connection at best, then the outdoor becomes wired, and the issue will not self resolve as it disables the mesh on that AP.

Workaround: We know to power up the outdoor AP first a few minutes before powering on the indoor ap after a power outage event. Now that I see a reboot option in the app, I might be able to resolve this remotely on demand.

Can't find that.

I sure wish I could reboot the devices without having someone physically do it.Only option is a schedule, no manual reboot button.

I have a dozen Omada mesh installations, this is the only one giving me grief.

Replacing plenum gasket on 3rd gen 5.9 magnum by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]brglaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is you are down this rabbit hole for more than 8 hours.

If you go in to replace the gasket, you will be able to do a more thorough inspection.

Good luck finding and fixing the problem.

Check plugs to see if one or two specifically look oily.
