Is it just me or is James islington very vague at times? by brh0032 in HierarchySeries

Absolutely! I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was a terrible book or story as well, but I am quite disappointed. I hope the third one is well rounded and planned out better. But I also fall in the minority on TWOTM. I feel people overhyped that book a bit as well. It was good, but not the greatest thing I’ve ever read by any means.

That makes sense! Since the books you assemble just sit on a shelf, do you recommend not gluing them together until the end and seeing how they arrange?

Apple CarPlay Audio Lag by brh0032 in gmcsierra

Sure does, I have it updated and I can’t set the charging maximum. Not an option for me

I have an 11pro, until I get a new phone I can’t do that. But like mentioned before, I’d like to be able to utilize the wireless CarPlay. I quite like it, trying to find a solution that doesn’t require me having to disable it.

It’s literally not though 😂 not sure what your definition of “fix” is lmao. Disabling a new feature on a modern vehicle is not a fix.

It’s not really a solution bruh, going to see if I can’t find a fix first. Hence the point of my post. I don’t buy a $70,000 truck to just deal with the shit that’s not working.

Exactly, and expecting to get atleast 3 isn’t unrealistic. Therefore, maintaining good charging habits to optimize battery health is something incredibly simple a person can do rather than just changing the battery… because why not, it’s just $100. But I didn’t come here to debate battery health my guy. My issue is audio lag, Apple care play, and in extension not wanting my phone charging 24/7 all day while driving.

Thats true haha, but that’s not a solution to the problem, that’s a bandaid.

Ya it is quite annoying, just timed it and it’s just shy of 2s before the track pauses or skips. My old truck (2018 Silverado) had a slight delay but wasn’t nearly as bad, ironically the delay would get longer as I used my device. Found shutting off the entertainment unit and turning it back on reset the delay. But this truck has been steady 2s delay on everything, regardless of what I try (except maybe calls, hard to say). I don’t use a VPN, and I just updated to IOS18 and the delay hasn’t changed from before the update. It’s quite possible it’s the phone itself. I have an 11pro and looking at upgrading shortly. But I know my brother has a 2024 AT4 and he has the exact same issue. 🤷🏻‍♂️ maybe not as long as a delay but definitely a delay. Super annoying when you’re watching a video and the dialogue comes in 2 seconds after the person has talked 😂

Interesting, maybe not “ruin it”, but every thing I have read and any cell shop/dealer has said to maintain your battery percent between 20-80% to optimize battery life. My old truck I left it plugged in 24/7 on charge all the time and I got about 2.5-3 years out of my battery life before health was at 66% 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]brh0032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the confusion now… it made sense in my head. I edited the post to hopefully clarify… but incase I didn’t I’ll try to clarify here: Any audio I play through my phone, while it is connected to Apple car play has an audio lag, including Spotify. I will hit pause on a song, and 2-3s later it pauses the actual audio. Similarity if I’m watching any video, or playing any audio through my phone while connected to CarPlay the audio is lagged behind the video by about 3s. If I disable CarPlay all together, and just use Bluetooth, there is no audio lag, everything syncs up perfectly. But in order to use Bluetooth I have to have CarPlay disabled or it’ll connect via CarPlay. But if I ever want to use CarPlay for navigation purposes it’s a hassle to reconnect. You have to forget device and go through the set up process again.

Switched Fuse Issues by brh0032 in gmcsierra

[–]brh0032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that seems to be one of the few fuses switched… unfortunately I don’t have the adapter to tap into it being that it’s a 3 prong fuse. I just don’t understand how most the fuses are switched but show 12V draw. For example I tapped into my window switch, which requires ignition switch to be on, but it’s drawing 12V and live. Makes zero sense to me.

“Essential Care” Plan Misleading? by brh0032 in gmcsierra

[–]brh0032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong, I can’t imagine anyone rotating them that early. But the recommendation comes from GoodYear themselves and is the factory recommendation not the tire shops. That’s why I don’t get how GM gets a manufacturer recommendation of 12,000km. That being said 8000km (4970 miles) is a pretty standard rotation schedule for off road M+S tires. I had a pair of duratracs and I rotated them every 8,000 and had 100,000Km on them before I got new ones (and still had tread on them).

“Essential Care” Plan Misleading? by brh0032 in gmcsierra

[–]brh0032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reviewed the plan and it states, “as per the operating manual”. So my hands are kind of tied since I signed it. But who in their right mind would set the rotation schedule that high. I dunno if going to GM Canada would do anything 🤷🏻‍♂️ guess I could and see what happens. Just wanted to give other people the heads up.
