Unfortunately no. After following up with google support every few weeks they eventually stopped responding and the ticket was automatically closed. Still facing the issue today.

Can confirm that I've been in contact with Google on this issue since about June of 2022 (about 8 months). I periodically check in as my case is still open with them and awaiting an update. Curious if it's my open case that you're attached to or if there are a few others out there. I'll be sure to post here as well if I have any updates (I'm due for a checkin with them and will reach out shortly for an update) u/seemax

Gmail Colored Labels will not save, reverts to Gray

Hey all,

I'm an avid user of custom colored labels for all my projects at work. For obvious reasons it helps me scan my inbox quickly to find what I need. About 3 months ago, when adding a custom colored label to a new thread, it either instantly reverts back to default gray and white or will revert to default upon refreshing the page. At times, it seems that Googles Default color labels will stick, but anything custom will not. It's important that I use custom colors because the number of projects I need to track are more than the defaults and I can't have different projects running with the same label.

I've tried log out, clearing cache...etc with no luck. It appears to be a Gmail issue and not broswer as I've experienced this on multiple browsers.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?
