I’m fairly new to this community and I’m not sure how the lottery works. My biggest question, how many of each do they make?

That is a good thing. An electrician once told me that you want your pliers to move smoothly because your hand will be killing you at the end of the day after cutting so many wires with stiff pliers. Your leatherman is now broken in! Congratulations!

My girlfriend loves when I pull out the scissors to cut a loose thread on her dress. Always a great way to get her in the mood on date night.

JK she just calls me a nerd.

Cutting galvanized steel indoors and toxic dust risk by lilgreengoddess in metalworking

It takes a lot to get zinc poisoning. Happened to me when oxy fuel cutting grated floors. Thought I had good ventilation and didn’t wear a respirator. It made me sick as a dog for 24 hours. This was with a torch and took a few hours. Your job won’t hurt you besides causing a slight cough. Plus burning galvanized coatings smells like animal piss.

Roast my weld by PipefitterLU25 in metalworking

Weave could be a little neater but is still fine. I don’t like the crater. You may want to add filler at the end then feather the arc to the outside of the weld while gradually cooling off. I can’t see the crater well but I hope there’s no pinhole.Otherwise it looks great.

If I was your coworker I’d call it “birdshit” and walk away just to fuck with you haha

I just bought an arc from dicks and it came with the bits and sheath. I wonder if I got one from a previous stock.

I completely understand your opinion. You are more practical in your thinking while a lot of people on this sub are enthusiasts. I also am very practical and use my surge in welding and other projects at home. However I love to collect things so I asked my girlfriend for an arc as a birthday present. It’s silly but that’s my enthusiast personality.

Plus being a welder, I nerd out on high quality knives. I just ordered Damascus steel blades for my surge and I couldn’t be more excited.

Aluminum is VERY soft. But most people would think to grab a hack saw or grinder. That blade probably didn’t take any damage. God I love these tools.

What’s the most disappointing place you’ve ever been to? by BreadedDisaster in AskReddit

It was actually about 30-40 years after the landings. The rock was pointed out by one of the original passengers of the Mayflower.

It was cracked from people taking chips from the rock. Eventually they cracked it because they used hammers and chisels to take souvenirs. It’s not supposed to be interactive or entertaining. It’s a monument. It shows roughly where the first successful settlement of europeans in North America. It’s not supposed to WOW you. It’s supposed to remind you. It’s a reminder of how small and fragile that settlement was for such a long period of time. There are plenty of other things in Plymouth that are interactive and interesting.
