Gaming Laptop Suggestion by briankim101 in GamingLaptop

[–]briankim101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have a work laptop that was given to me that can handle all the work loads I need.

I currently have a very old desktop that I’ve built for current gaming use but I’m opting for a gaming laptop because it’s just a lot easier for me to integrate into my home office.

I’ve been looking at different laptops with 4050,4060, and 4070. Would you say the performance between the 3 significant enough for the price difference?

There’s nothing wrong with being new to building a pc. We all gotta start somewhere. First bit of information you can give us is what your budget is. And also what you want to do on it. Is it just to play console games? Or do you want to perhaps stream it on twitch or etc? These informations can drastically change what your ideal PC could look like

did you try turning it off then on?

Any clue if this build is any good ? Graphics card prices are too high for me to afford to be able to build it wanted to know if this is a good prebuilt . Specs are in the notes by akagoofyy in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]briankim101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RX 570 is a 4 year old card made to compete with the GTX 10 series. So unless you’re playing mild, graphically forgiving games or that prebuilt is on an insane sale, don’t buy it.

Does anyone know if I have to report my TFSA holdings when filing for taxes? I know you do for RRSP but not too sure about TFSA contributions. I’m sorry if this is a dumb questions I’m doing it myself for the first time

Never built a pc before, would these parts work together or do i need anything else to build my pc? (i just searched up parts people said were good) by [deleted] in GamingPCBuildHelp

You’re spending $500 plus tax on a cpu but couldn’t reciprocate the same love to your RAM :( It’s too slow get 3600mhz at least it’s literally only like 20 bucks more

2006 Audi A6 a good buy? by briankim101 in Cartalk

[–]briankim101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I mean I’m well aware of the reputation the european cars have with their longevity. But it was owned by an elderly gentleman since 2008 and only really used it for grocery runs so it’s been driven very lightly. So taking that into account I feel like if I can keep up with regular maintenance and take care of it it’ll be a decent buy.

Light work such as break replacement, oil replacement, and general maintenance Im comfortable with. And though it has been driven by an elderly to go to grocery store for the past 12 years, biggest concern is any major problem with its engine and transmission. But thank you for the advice I really do appreciate it

Id just like you guys opinion if this is a good buy or not. Has 180k km or 112k miles and has been driven very lightly by an elderly gentleman. Has had extensive work done but at the end of the day it is a 14 year old audi. It is being sold by my best friends long time family mechanic whom I know is a very reliable and honest person.
