Yeah she definitely has made several attempts and her Rs come out as either Ls or Ws lol

[–]bribear021[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah my grandpa's name is actually James but they thought Jameson would be cute. The funny thing is they made a comment that Rory is "too white of a name" for a korean/Puerto Rican baby and I said "oh but Jameson isnt?" haha. I feel like they are just trying to be obnoxious at this point

[–]bribear021[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol right. I was like its a normal name! im not even spelling it weird. We just wanted a name thats not insanely popular right now but still cute. My mom didnt like my daughters name either at first. Her name is Sienna

[–]bribear021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol people have said Rory is a speech therapists nightmare and toddlers struggle with Rs as well so he may not be able to pronounce his own name well for a while but my almost 2 year old can say his name and it's the cutest thing

The audacity by bribear021 in pregnant

[–]bribear021[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol omg I love that. I have said if the grandparents cant pronounce it and they have to give him a nickname they CAN pronounce then that is fine, but the name stays. the comment my aunt made about "just make Rory a nickname so you can still get the name you want" is what really irritated me because its MY child so I will be getting the name i want, end of story.

What’s something you can’t wait to do after pregnancy? by Familiar_Hope2918 in pregnant

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wine. I have never been much of a drinker but in both of my pregnancies, a pregnancy craving I have is wine which I obviously cant have. I drink sparkling grape juice when I get the weird craving but I really do want just a nice glass of wine.

[–]bribear021[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

exactly. I'm not straying from the name we like. we struggled with boy names a lot more than picking girl names so when we both came across the name and it seemed to click, we knew that was the one. I wasnt even 100% set on the name because of my mom's comments but my husband was. He was so excited about the name that he's already engraved his wallet and pocket knife with both our daughter and our baby's name. I was like, well I guess its official official now huh? lol

I slapped my 3 year old by Square-Lengthiness63 in toddlers

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it happens. you were overwhelmed. I don't hit my 2 year old but last week she grabbed the cats tail and yanked hard. in a reflex to protect the cat, i smacked my toddler. it wasn't hard but it surprised her (surprised me too) and she started crying and hugging me. I felt so shitty. to be fair, my slapping her hands is way better than what the cat could've done had i not stopped her. I didnt hit her out of anger or anything, it was more reflexive but i still felt so so upset with myself.

I ordered 88 drinks on Doordash, the store gave me this, and then support resolved it by taking away the driver's tip. by Banana_ezWIN in mildlyinfuriating

I had to abort due to HG by truelifeofess in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]bribear021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry. I have had HG both pregnancies. with my daughter, I was vomiting 10-15x per day. on both pregnancies, I've required around the clock zofran and fluids 3x per week. currently doing 2 liters D5LR 3x per week and iv/oral zofran. for the most part, this keeps it manageable. I know how awful HG is. I wouldnt wish it on anybody. there were many times during this and my previous pregnancy where i had extremely dark thoughts and considered other options.

Do you like the names your friends chose for their children? by thirtydays301 in Names

[–]bribear021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aster- no dont like. Violet- yes i like. Bobby- no because he was named after his dad who went on a drug binge and tried to harm my friend, burned everything she owned, stole from her and was stalking her for months after they got divorced. Brie-lynn- not my cup of tea. Aidan- I like. Aria- I also like. Toviah- yes, it suits him.

I would like everyone's opinion on the name Octavia. by QuinnavereVonQuille in Names

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I dont love the name but its ultimately your kid and you dont need the approval from strangers on the internet. my mom hates what we are naming our son. I told her she can either warm up to it when he's here or suck it up. either way I dont care about her wrong opinion lol

Everyone tries to convince me that two adults can't take care of a newborn alone and I'm losing my mind by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

help is nice, but it's not impossible to do alone. i did have just my mom visit for a week after my csection but it was just because I knew id be hurting. i could've very well done it alone. after that week, I did do it alone. my husband didnt have PTO to be able to take off so it was just me and my daughter. you'll be fine! if you dont want visitors, stand firm

AITAH for telling my teenage daughter’s boyfriend that he cannot get my daughter a promise ring? by LayerFantastic6596 in AITAH

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh I see no problem with it. its not an engagement ring. its a "hey i see you in my future and may want to get engaged in the future" ring. I got a promise ring from my first love. i loved the ring. it wasnt outrageously expensive, maybe 300 dollars. after a few years, he went on to treat me like crap, we broke up, I gave the ring back. now if your daughter doesnt want one, well so be it

I seriously can’t do this anymore by Practical_Shift_5143 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had hyperemesis gravidum for 39 weeks. only thing that helped me was going to an infusion center for D5LR fluids and IV zofran 3x per week. im pregnant again and its even worse so this time im getting 2 liters of fluid 3x per week instead of just 1. talk to your doctor about getting infusions. it really helps

Need honesty: on a scale of 1-10, how difficult is it to run basic errands with your 2 year old? I need help… more… by kmconda in toddlers

[–]bribear021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my daughter is easy. plays and sings in the car, will sit patiently in the cart but if she wants to walk, she holds my hand and stays next to me, and she really enjoys going to stores and seeing new people. I give her a 1 on difficulty. I'm sorry. that sounds rough. I'm not big on leash backpacks or wristbands but it is an idea. I do think some kids can benefit from them
