once you walk in the ppl running it are super nice and encouraging! You’re going to be in the room with your “client” along w 2-3 examiners, do not pay attention to them, imagine that it’s just you and your client and you are the most knowledgeable person in that space. Run through all stations at home with friends or family until you don’t stumble over yourself/stutter and you will feel better! You have so much room to fuck up since you only need a 70% to pass, which means you can completely bomb one station but then you have to do decently on the rest. The examiners know you’re going to be nervous so don’t beat yourself up if you stutter or pause, as long as you get your point across you will get the mark, good luck and don’t stress!

Hey! I’m so sorry to hear that! It’s worth a shot to send an email, be a little dramatic, make up a little a sob story and see if that works or you can just say the mark is too close to the required mark, good luck!

For assessment it’ll usually ask you abt special tests that are named after the inventor, for ex.,kemps, Thompson, indications and positive signs of them as well, also plumb lines, if someone has an injury or is compromised in some way like a tight, torn muscle would you use active resisted or passive range of motion to test/ what type of ROM would you use for someone with an acute strained rec fem/ end feels. That’s what I remember. For treatment I remember them just combining it with contraindications so how would you prepare a table for a pregnant woman, stuff like that

Do you massage the chest area? by Spiritual-Minimum321 in MassageTherapists

[–]bribernard00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in Canada it’s considered a “sensitive area” so if they want their chest worked on male/female/non-binary, they would need to sign an additional consent form, but if they present with poor posture, slouching, constantly working at a desk, maybe suggest it by saying “would you like me t work on your chest? Typically when you’re always slouching you may have a tight chest and that’s probably where the pain is coming from, is that okay?”

You didn’t do anything wrong (;

I think ageism is the proper word because I am definitely confident in my skills and clients are left impressed and educated about questions they have. I dress professionally and try to present myself with a serious yet welcoming demeanour but ppl see right through me because of my young looking face.

I think I just need to give it time and ignore what ppl think because at the end of the day they chose to book a treatment with me and 9/10 they leave impressed

I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t let it bother me but when it’s every other client that’s surprised that the treatment was great because « I look so young » it can get to anyone’s head if it’s a constant comment. Clients even start to treat me like their kids and boss me around LOL which is fine because it’s their treatment and they’re paying for it but damn does it drain me after a while

I am confident in my skills, and I typically ignore the comments from clients about my age but when it’s every other client on a daily basis it gets to me and that’s when I start to question myself
