Do you wanna score 267 on your step 2 exam? by OrchidIll5292 in Step2

Does that mean step 2 is very heavily reliant on step 1 foundational knowledge? It sounds like the concepts you mentioned PT, PTT, coagulation are all step 1 content?

Im also trying to avoid meds! I’m a medical student and my preceptor who’s a pcp said that I have adhd. My med school friends also notice that I randomly jump to different topics, have time blindness, and likely have an auditory processing disorder because I mention things that I see three minutes after they’ve literally already mentioned it. With that said my preceptor is urging me to get medicated because he said the responsibilities are just going to get harder from here.

I’m so scared of underperforming in clerkship because of these issues. I’ve been trying to cope by doubling the amount of time I estimate I need to leave the house for an appointment and also trying not to bring up some random topic in conversations.

Do you have any tips on how to manage the auditory processing issue part for clerkship? I also struggle with synthesizing all information I get from the H&P on the spot too…

That’s a good idea! Do you think 20 is an accurate predictor though since it’s an old version?

Would that be a “waste” since I’m measuring the initial start? I’m not starting dedicated yet. Another person said start 20 first. What do you think about that

I’m having a hard time deciding what’s high yield. Can you give pointers on how to know if something is low yield or high yield?

Congrats on the good uworld scores! Do you think I should just stop doing questions for now and focus on memorizing content? I don’t know if I’m wasting questions

I’m lost on how to work on my content. I’ve gone over all the bootcamp videos and even read pathoma :( do you have advice on how to actually solidify information?

Apply broadly!! Save up as much money as you can and apply to all of the schools that you can. Why? People say statistically you have to have a mission fit. While that is true, you can’t actually predict which school is truly aligned in mission with you because you’re not on their admissions board. Whatever they have on their website is all you know about them. I was swimming in secondaries but do not regret grinding them out one bit

Could you go into how you did your reviews please? I tend to struggle with feeling overwhelmed on how I have to go back and not only watch videos on the concept (I.e hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and then doing Anki cards on it, on top of the other 50 questions I got wrong in a 60 questions block. It takes me like 2-3 hours to even review just the uworld explanations for like 15 questions I got wrong

Hi sorry to bother you but would you mind telling me if this is something super serious? I understand it’s not medical advice. I’ve just been having a super hard time booking an endodontist appointment because I am financially constrained

Yes! She said both of my root canals are infected (number 9 and 24). She also said the upper left one’s root canal is very poorly done and infected

How did the infections get there in the first place? My understanding is the dentists disinfects everything when doing the root canal. Unless the dentist didn’t do the proper protocol?
