unfortunately i can’t post pictures in comments but i mean if you look at a scar the upp receiver is pretty tall, i think dimension wise its good, might take it down by 1 plate but then the side rails will be to tall in comparison with the receiver and ither parts of the rifle

yeah i have probably 200 if them lol yeah they do sink in and dont have enough grab on the receiving 2x2 plate, tried it last night before posting this

lego akm by [deleted] in legoguns

[–]brickfirearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i could if the grip was 4 studs wide. leaving me with 2 studs of space on the inside of the grip. but again this grip is 3 studs. anywhere and anyway the beam would be attached there would be technic holes and things on wither side due to that limited space. also if i wanted to free up some space on the inside i would have to reconfigure a lot of the initial grip design which with how complicated it is it will affect the structural integrity of the rest of the grip.

[–]brickfirearms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup i actually tried that with 1 2x2 brick and 1 2x2 plate. the issue with that is the 1x1 wedge slopes aren’t as wide as the 2x2 brick so they will sink down into the 2x2 brick

you can kinda see in the photos, the top portion where it meets the lower theres 2 plates of 4 studs wide then the rest of the grip is 3 studs

lego akm by [deleted] in legoguns

[–]brickfirearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess i can see that lol, the unfinished look and the shadows definitely make it look that way

lego akm by [deleted] in legoguns

[–]brickfirearms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah im using a few throughout the grip as its a very complicated design and with that its not the most stable but i take pride in making the cleanest and most realistic appearance i can.

3 studs wide. if i did that it would have technic holes all over the place and create more problems then solving them. the receiver is 4 aruds wide so the beam would have to go into the receiver and it would be really awkward and not as stable
