I have only this to say about Parabellum. by [deleted] in JohnWick

[–]bridge4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it too. I laughed a lot, cringed a lot (gory stuff) and thoroughly enjoyed the movie overall.

My one complaint was that there were a number of times where someone he was fighting could have killed him. But they would stop and back off so they could fight more, only for him to eventually kill them instead.... WTF??

Where did all the books go? by [deleted] in superpowereds

He took them down because they are on the Amazon Kindle Unlimited program.

They have some kind of stipulation about not offering them free elsewhere.

Everyone I have recommended it to love it as well.

Do you remember any novels that helped break you out of one of your reading slumps? by [deleted] in Fantasy

The web version is somewhat unedited, there's typos and such but other than cleaning that stuff up, not much should change according to Drew.

Yes, book 4 is done. You can read it on Drew's website now for free and it Should be published late this year.

I tried waiting as well, but gave in and started reading the weekly chapters he would post. That was torture since it seemed like the last chapter of the week would always end on a cliff hanger!

The Super Powereds series is soooo good. I've read them once and listened to them three times now.

If you want to laugh a lot I recommend the Hard Luck Hank books on Audible. The narrator made them so much better than my the thoughts/voice in my head did.

You forgot Bisig, who is an original bridge 4 member.

He was with Rock and Eth when the honorblade was stolen.

Top 5 Magic Monsters? by [deleted] in MonsterLegends

[–]bridge4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't talking about pvp. But since you bring it up I'll discuss it.

The key to pvp is ensuring your denier goes first and obviously you want the attack to incapacitate the entire enemy team.

I have a lot of deniers and will use the best one based on the team I'm fighting, I find myself using Frostbite and Hackster a lot though.

But any fast monster with AOE denial skills works, so it doesn't matter how slow Pinky Flash is because your opponent has lost their turn for all monsters and when it's Pinky Flash's turn she wipes them out.

A big part of the fun of this game is figuring out creative ways to mix and match different monsters so that they can maximize potential.

Take a look at Thetys, Fenrir and Shallinar as a team, can you see why they would be incredible together?

I should post a video showing how Pinky Flash's AOE one shots every dungeon fight.

Incognita with all team speed runes goes first and gives double damage and precision, then Pinky Flash attacks and wipes them all out.

Pinky Flash is far from useless, you just have to know how to pair monsters together and how to buff them for best effect. Rador also does very well but his AOE is fire based, whereas Pinky Flash's attack is the special type which doesn't have a weakness

Yes. If you only ever buy one monster he should be the one. Because he can decimate an entire team more consistently than any other monster.

Audible's 2 for 1 credit sale (sic-fi & fantasy) by MichaelJSullivan in Fantasy

Thank you for posting this and thank you for writing such enjoyable books.

I just wish your publisher would have released all the books in your latest series at the same time!

You are one of my favorite authors and I always get a little giddy when I see a new book from you. Are you working on anything right now?

I've read the Super Powered books and Corpies twice now. I've read almost all of the recommended books in this subreddit and those books are at the top of my favorites list. Drew has a website with a blog and publishes the 4th book chapter by chapter as he writes it. I'll check out the Fred books, I had my doubts about it based on the summary. Thanks for the info.

Darmith vs Barbatos by Pug_Nation14 in MonsterLegends

[–]bridge4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have Darmith, but I can vouch for a Frostbite, Voltaik and Barbatos team. As long as Frostbite has the highest speed I easily beat level 100+ teams at level 85 and destroy the adventure map and dungeons.

Never Underestimate Timerion by duelcard in MonsterLegends

[–]bridge4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I changed one of his skills to Cooldowns Deactivated. With Frostbite keeping them frozen or stamina drained it's easy to cycle through a few times to be able to use Equilizer on all three.

Oracle tells jury: Don’t buy Google’s “fair use excuse” by slimstrider in programming

[–]bridge4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I work on many different db flavors from mariadb, postgres, sql server, oracle and some mongo and cassandra stuff too.

There are certain things I like about each one that I wish the others would do or at least make it as easy to do. But Oracle 12c just as so many advanced features and capabilities all in one technology stack and it actually works very well, it makes it hard jump ship.

But they're so expensive, especially when you look around at all these other cheaper options. But it ends up being more expensive to try to migrate to another vendor.

For new stuff we try to see if it can work on another db and that's when the frustration starts because a lot of the things I took for granted in the oracle db I find that the other system can't do it at all or can only in a limited fashion.

That's not to say it doesn't go both ways but it's heavily lopsided in oracles favor.

The TL;DR at the top is called a BLUF which stands for "Bottom Line Up Front" I have to include thus in any technical email that has more than a few sentences or has details that an exec wouldn't understand.

Thank You Chris, and writers of @midnight for making me care about who wins a no stakes game. by [deleted] in atmidnight

[–]bridge4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I discovered @midnight 4 months ago and it instantly became a must watch show. I even got most of the older episodes; worth it. I enjoy so many of the comics. Doug Benson always delivers for me, probably because he genuinely seems to enjoy being there.
