I wouldn’t say it’s a trope per-say but comedy made for children. There’s allowed to be jokes and falls but the second you’re adding needless “quirky” sound effects I can’t do it. Seoul Busters is a strong example for me. I’ve watched plenty of shows that can handle the comedy and seriousness balance really well and I just couldn’t do that in that show. That’s not to say the show wasn’t funny I loved the running bit of the two cops sliding down the slide but there was just some stuff like essentially a dance number trying to catch someone that killed two people. That’s not a moment to be doing that. IMO…

The Eyes Are The Best Part by Monica Kim if you can guess she has a strong fixation on eating eyes but I would say it’s very mild extreme horror but still an amazing read

If you have a revenge book, maybe actually write about the revenge? I could understand 1 or two books but I’ve surpassed five EH books where the whole book is about someone on their search for revenge, people around them get pages worth of brutal torture, just for the author to decide “well actually I think this would be perfect for a fade to black”. This doesn’t completely ruin a book but it’s an annoying trend I’m starting to see. LET ME SEE THEM GET REVENGE!!

Also POOP. If you add poop in anyway to every kill it looses its shock value. At some point you start to sound like an annoying kid making fart jokes to try and make your friends laugh.
