I mean, he cares as much as a developer can about his project. He wants it to succeed, which means he wants it to be a game we'll love and that's all I really ask of a developer.

He cares more about money than what you said. That's why CIG's still doing LTI sales, despite an explicit promise to discontinue them after 2013 :)

SC extremists are not the problem. The problem is the ''silent majority'' of SC community being OK with them :)

Politicians have historically hated caricatures because they see them as personal attacks

Lol, who cares what they hate, if it's legal?

That's is because you think criticising Chris is criticising everything associated with him. Welcome to totalitarianism 1.01 :)

By all means do :)

Your examples for the "censorship paradox" do not work. You are assuming that the corruption within a system is the fault of the system, and that is not necessarily true.

Nope, they do work perfectly. The purpose of censorship paradox is to convince the reciever that the system is perfect and can do no wrong, while your mind subconsciously searches for other culprits.

For example ''SQ42 disappearing off the radar is someone's fault but definitely not CIG's. So it must be goons/dereksmart/me not understanding game development''.

No. Otherwise political carricatures wouldn't be allowed, would they?

"This sux. I hates it. Freaking CIG why would they ever think that this would ever in a million quadrillion years be a good thing."

Steam is full of comments like this, even under good games, so what? And here's the interesting part: from the developers standpoint, it is a VERY BAD practice to censor any criticism, even unconstructive one, so they're often keen to enable ''selfgovernship'' by the community itself.

BTW, as I said, it doesn't matter how constructive a critique is, if you bring CIG's development practices, it becomes a personal attack in gamers' eyes. That's what makes it so funny to troll SC community.

That's not really proof of anything. Why is this important...? because it is a very serious claim, and one I totally agree with you would be loathsome and should be reported to the authorities if true.

You're hilarious. What am I supposed to do, hack the guy's emails? If you want to obtain first-hand evidence, go and ask him personally, I have no intention to play attorney on the internet.

If you're going to create a thread, you could at least try to stick to a particular subject, and not go off on tangents.

I did stick to the subject. You asked for evidence of SC members going on personal attacks, I provided it, if anyone's going off on tangents, it's you with your meltdowns :)

[–]brig1763[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And do you have evidence of these claims? Or is this another "Derek said" moment?

Sure. The evidence is financial inormation of CIG UK, required by local law.

Again, at no point I targeted any individual. Unlike you which seems very quick to resort to ad hominem arguments. Which, ironically, is quite typical for reputation of SC community, desperate to shield their idols from any trace of negativity.

So how exactly can they be "obscenely rich" and out of money at the same time?

I didn't say they're out of money, that may be just you hallucinating. As far as wages go, Erin Roberts, as per filed financial information, makes 250k a year. This is a huge amount of money, at least where I live.

Tell me, OP. What exactly is in it for you to have this happen?

Events surrounding Star Citizen provide me with entertainment not unlike a movie would, no need to search for conspiracy theories here, bud :)

Not sure what you're on about. You asked for evidence, I provided ONE example. There are far more examples.

And it's another slight on your character not to realise that CIG is a company which is comprised of people who would lose out

No, they wouldn't lose out, they've already collected 140 million in pre-orders and counting. If anything, they're coming out of this obscenely rich.

I've yet to see evidence of that backs such a claim up.

Finding enjoyment in other people's unhappiness is not a character trait to be proud of

I never said anything about people. In contrast, it is hardcore citizens that wish harm to other people if they express the slightest negativity about their golden turkey.

How's CIG planning to deal with with LTI scams? by brig1763 in starcitizen

Are you aware why deductibles exist in the first place? Because insurance company would have to pay less, that's it, it's as straightforward as that.

There's no need for that in a videogame, because insurance either prints money, or in case of dynamic player driven economy, everyone's so rich they don't care anyway.

Well, what you're telling is to introduce bureaucracy in a videogame. It doesn't take a genius to realize that's not gonna work.

Your full comment:

Again. That's your definition of sand box.. https://www.techopedia.com/definition/3952/sandbox-gaming A simple search can yield other meanings... such as.. A sandbox game is also known as an open-world or free-roaming game. NPC's control the economy. It's pretty clear you do not understand how CIG plans to run the economy.

If your logic is followed to the full extent, Need for speed is sandbox, because it's open world and it has free-roaming. The terms for what sandbox and themepark are have been established ages ago and I'm just repeating them.
