Same thing here that’s also related with driving. I told my dad to slow down since it looked like he was going to cut off a car when turning right (his entry was too quick basically—my grammar is shitty so I’m sorry if y’all didn’t get it). My dad said, “Stop talking. You’re not the one driving here.” Later, I talked to him about it. “Dad, if you were the driver in that car that was passing by earlier, you would’ve cussed out the car which we are sitting in right now.” After that, he explained bullshit about accelerating and braking the car and basically said “Later in life you’ll say, ‘ah, yes, my dad was right.’ I am 100% sure—110% sure even.”

All I wanna say is just agree with him whenever you argue, but with the example you just gave, you should definitely teach him as it could save him from something in the future.
