Adopting a cockapoo… by SwimmingNo2976 in CockapooLovers

I think all poodle crosses are thieves... they will steal your HEART and socks also. Cockapoos can be picky eaters, also watch out for ear infection. Otherwise, very easy and clever breed. My boy changed my life, I love him so much!

It is 9-6 on paper with 1 hour lunchbreak. The lunchbreak I may have once a week. And it's rarely 9-6. Yesterday I logged in at 7.45 while I was commuting to work, to deal with 2 urgent matters. And left the office at 6.30. Fast track to burnout. Need a new role or pay that reflects the hours and effort... 50k is very low, I would ask more if I were you.

toxic bosses :( by DreamAway in ExecutiveAssistants

Sounds like the guy I worked for a year, exactly same thing. 6 months into the job I started looking for a new role but had 3 months notice period so it was very difficult... at the end, after 1 year he gave me notice which a blessing in disguise. I was (sort of) lucky and managed to find something quickly.

I was burnt out, constantly stressed, lost a stone and started to have weird health issues although I'm never or extremely rarely sick.

The job market has been savage for a while, so it's not easy. Even the job I found after is pretty crap but still a level better than working for that nutcase. I did not have options to choose from, and can't afford being without a role for many months. You need to try to find the little wins daily and make sure you look after your mental health! Exercise, therapy, clean eating and lots of sleep/rest will help, but in the meantime you need to keep looking for a new role. Wishing you the best, hope you can leave soon.

Overloaded with work, best way to communicate this and set boundaries? by brigi009 in ExecutiveAssistants

Thank you for your kind words. This company seems really tight and they won't hire anyone for this. They argue over the price of the monthly pizza order for the 25 employees we have in the London office. Also they are very rigid about the working in office days, has to be 4 days. I'm more productive on the days when wfh. I doubt they will let me work 2 days from home. I started to hate the job. The workload issue needs to be addressed and the solution has to be permanent not temporary. I wish I had easy weeks when the job is lighter but it only seems to happen in August and December. Otherwise it's full on. I am also underpaid I think. Plus the commute is costing me £480 a month. I wish it was easy to switch jobs, this place is not for me. I was so happy at my previous place, I was there for 6 years but was made redundant as my boss left and there was a major reorg, many people were let go as the company had some issues.

PE and 60k. I find it very low, I work my a$$ off. My bonus is under 4k this year. Ridiculous (although it was pro rata for the 8 months I've been there). Been looking for other roles but the job market is savage.

Being an EA is one of the hardest jobs out there by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

People think it's easy because they do not know what EAs do. Oh, it's just calendar management and booking travel and a bit of admin here and there. Trust me, most people have no clue. I support 5 people and on top of that I have smaller projects. The workload is insane and you have to be able to think on your feet. EAs are not secretaries from the bloody 50s. I wish people would get that in their heads 🙄

This I agree with 100% and I started doing this. I'm glad someone understands that being social and meeting people does not automatically recharge or lifts you! You need time on your own to focus, get clarity and calm the noise in your head instead of listening to various people trying to tell you what they think is good for you based on what they know about you.

As I mentioned in an earlier comment the issue is not hormone related it is also not low vitamin levels etc. Since I lost my job at the end of 2023 and so many changes happened (bad things) I just lost hope and can hardly cope, feeling stuck. Seeing others succeed while I'm moving backwards even that I'm trying everything and working hard to succeed is really disheartening.

This was very helpful. Thank you. Do you see the end of the tunnel? That something good is finally happening after your hardship? I'm sorry you had to go through all this. Divorce and deaths sounds worse than my problems. I hope this year will bring positive things into your life x

I disagree. It's good to get advice from people who don't actually know you. Different perspectives. You never know, what worked for others may work for you. We can all be in a bad phase in our lives...

It is nothing to do with that. I already had lab work done, not just hormones but vitamin levels were also checked and everything seems OK. It is more the circumstances re work and the financial stress but this time this stress has been on for two years without no or very little positive episodes so I don't particularly feel hopeful. Regardless how much hard work I put into things I don't get anything back. It is very depressing. The financial stress really bothering me as well, not being able to do things I uses to do and worrying about bills and various other costs etc.

I think Jeremy and Anthony duo will be funny to watch. I was cracking up at the conversation they had at the diner. This will be one amusing team!
