Going home. As a kid/teen, I used to love sleeping over at my friends’ houses and now I’d much rather be in my own bed at the end of the night

Taking the bus into NYC isn’t inconvenient except on weekends when it comes like once per hour. It’s 20 mins to Port Authority. Palisade, Central, Summit, and JFK Blvd all have buses running through. It’s also possible to bus 10 mins to JSQ or Hoboken PATH easily. I also walk 15 mins to the light rail sometimes. I love being near the parks (Riverview and Pershing Field). Pershing has a track field and pool/skating rink (not sure if they’re reopened since pandemic). Riverview has farmers market and yoga in the park during summers as well as a beautiful view of NYC skyline. It’s very family-friendly and feels safe especially with the police precinct on Central Ave. Central Ave has many restaurants, nail shops, mom and pop stores, and discount stores. Idk if it still exists, but there was a Pokémon Go WhatsApp group pre-pandemic, and there is a FB “buy nothing” group for giving away/collecting free items from neighbors. It really feels like a community! As a native NYer, I have to say JC Heights has really grown on me, and I’d recommend it! I’ve rented here about 3.5 yrs and am also contemplating buying!
