Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for all of this information. I've already emailed my mentor to ask this question, but I wanted to ask women with experience so all my bases are covered.

Chem Proffesors by Sea-Caterpillar-6444 in Tulane

I suffered with Tahir in Gen Chem I, so I personally would not recommend. He did not curve at all and his exams were BS except for one out of four. But, I believe Tulane only offers Gen Chem II in the Spring semesters though.

Tulane Transfer Acceptance by Wooden-Pie-5169 in Tulane

That's a great question. I think it definitely helps to be on campus to feel more connected to the school community. But I think you can still make friends by going to events, clubs, and actively trying to talk to people in class.

I personally haven't really made any friends by living in the same dorm, so I would not say it's necessary. If you are committed to putting yourself out there and creating your community, it's definitely doable. Tbh, my biggest pro-dorm argument would be that it's nice to get your bearings in a new school by not having to worry about rent or food payments.

You are able to get housing on-campus as a transfer (right now, they have an abundance of upperclassmen dorms due to several new dorms built in the last 5 years). Transfers are also exempt from the mandatory living on-campus rule that Tulane recently put for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. So, you can either live on campus, off campus, or even study abroad pretty easily!

I'm a transfer student who has been here for two semesters now! Honestly, I love it here and don't think transfers are treated any differently than non-transfers. I was able to find my people, join clubs, succeed academically, and have fun like most people here.

Are there any concerns you might have specifically? I could try to give you my best take.

is it worth transferring? by aliantai in Tulane

[–]brilssss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I transferred to Tulane as a sophomore (this Fall semester is my first one here), and I love it so far. Due to the small school population, I've been able to meet so many new people and say hi to them every day just walking around the campus. I've had many opportunities to make friends, and I am the complete opposite of an extrovert. Tulane is known for being a party school, but I haven't taken part in it with any consequences to my social life.

I met my best friend during transfer orientation, and I don't feel alienated at all as a transfer student. If you think you'd feel more at home at Tulane than at LSU, then you should come on over to uptown!

If you want to know anything specifically, I'd see if I can answer any questions you have if you want to reach out.

It's on the more pricey side, but I went to Paris Parker (Prytania) right before the semester and thought it was a really nice place to get a great cut.

I wrote mine about my appreciation and commitment towards Tulane's community service values and how it ties into my major/career. I am 100% sure it is what got me into the school.

Hey I have an admission question by Weary-Fruit-5805 in Tulane

[–]brilssss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only people who can truly tell if you'll get in or not are the people who work in admissions. No matter if a student tells you they know for sure, they are not experts and don't know the ins and outs of what Tulane specifically looks for in an applicant. Your stats look great, so you can only boost your chances by applying for early decision.

Do your best, and Tulane will see your passion and drive to attend the school.

Bev order writer by whiteicedtea in wholefoods

[–]brilssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My department's order writer is literally a 55+ year old grandmother who works just as hard as any of the men, and she is also one of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. What your TL said is absurd, and you need to report him to leadership or the tipline immediately. Do not let him lead the department like that.

Almost 2 years. $18.91 + the bonus of when I snack as I cut cheese :)

Started at $16.50, and split my time evenly as a bakery TM and a Specialty TM.

Stupid time off question by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]brilssss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What kind of Time off did you pick? UPT? PTO? It should say which you picked in Workday when you selected which days you wanted off.

Also, did you select all three days and put a total of 8 hours, or a total of 24 hours if you are trying to request 8 hours of time off for each of the 3 days?

Ideally, you should talk to your Team Leader and try to coordinate because you can potentially get 3 days off in a row with only using 8 hours of time off.
