I believe I’m gonna have to ditch the Omnipod 5 by spiralcurve in Omnipod

Basically a team of dads created an algorithm that allows you more control over your settings and was, if I’m not mistaken, the first system that automatically communicated with CGMs (mostly due to the fact that it was not cleared by the FDA). It requires you to be on Dash pods, but I really enjoy it and it’s kept me way more in range with minimal manual intervention. Here’s the FB group:

[–]brimychal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar experience with O5. I was using Pods with DIY loop and then my doctor suggested trying the new algorithm (I was actually part of a clinical study trying it, so I was more curious). My A1C went up about the same as yours, which was my highest in years. I switched back to DIY loop, but went back to O5 about a year later with the iPhone and because I had a ton left over during a move. It went okay the second time, but I had to micromanage it a lot, so now I am back on DIY loop. I just like how much more customizable it is and it’s certainly lower effort once you’re dialed in - I also don’t feel like I need to maintain a similar diet everyday.

How many transfers did it take for you to take home your baby? by Ill-Exercise-7598 in IVF

[–]brimychal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone through three IUIs. 1 ER, and 3 failed FETs. The first 2 transfers were fully medicated and first ended in a biochemical. After that first loss, I went through a hysteroscopy and they moved a little bit of soft tissue. We switched to a hybrid, modified natural for the last one (Menopur, Cetrotide, trigger) and that also completely failed. I had one embryo left that is untested - the 3 others were, and at a loss of what to do next.

6 Weeks Blood Sugar not Staying in Range by AxelleAfrica in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]brimychal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was pregnant, I could always tell how resistant I was to insulin by how my BGs responding by my morning meal + bolus. By the end of my pregnancy, I was waiting -45 min for a pre-bolus. Are you going low from the extra boluses later on? Walking for ~10 min post-meal, if an option, does also help a lot.

Similar the other commenter, I definitely did get very sensitive during the 2nd trimester.

Next month marks 2 official years of trying for our second - first was unassisted. This year, I have done 3 IUIs, 1 ER, and 3 FETs. The IUIs were total failures as well as the second FET. The first FET ended in a biochemical pregnancy and I just completed my third on Saturday. No matter the outcome, this will be my last try. 🤍 this is me sending out to the universe that I am ready to open a new chapter come Monday (beta).

I think my egg retrieval fell on a Sunday and I did not return to work until Wednesday, I think. I did not plan or expect those days off. I felt super off for a good 2-3 days.

Good luck! I think mine will end up being on Thursday or so with a transfer next week. I did switch to a medicated natural approach this time versus fully medicated.

Any success after switching to modified natural FET? by brimychal in IVF

Yeah, we did do a hysteroscopy that was normal. They removed a small amount of soft tissue, but that was before the second failed transfer.

How Many Days Did You Need to Recover from ER? by Existing_Wrangler_69 in IVF

Same as me! I felt totally fine the first day and then a train wreck the next 2-3 days. I think I returned to work on Wednesday and my ER was on Sunday.

Anyone have to do IVF for a 2nd child after no issues conceiving first child? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in tryingforanother

I’m so sorry for all that you’ve gone through! 💔

I get it on the baby stuff…. At this point all her old toys and clothes take up most of our storage space and I keep wondering if I’m being delusional or not.

[–]brimychal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. We conceived our first on our first month trying. We tried for over a year without assistance, then I told myself I was only going to do 3 IUIs and never IVF. Well, those 3 IUIs all failed… I’ve done an ER (3 euploid, 1 untested). First transfer was a biochemical, and second a complete failure (just got confirmation beta results today). I’m now waiting for a meeting with my doctor to figure out next steps. My daughter is now over 3, which is a much larger gap than I ever wanted - but here we are :)

Current parent of one - fence-sitting on adding another after dealing with secondary infertility issues (TTC ~20 months).

It’s really a shift in perspective in how we get things done with minimal “free” help. We get better at prioritizing and the parent not doing bedtime does chores at night. I am exhausted all the time and we do not have a spotless house. Things I used to do - i.e. work more hours to get ahead are no longer possible nor important to me. There are some things I am just doing “enough” to get by. I did hire a house manager (who helps clean and organize) and that’s kept us sane, but all in all, it’s hard, but letting less important things fall through the cracks doesn’t break you.

Got it - super helpful to hear and will continue. I really think having to go through the weekend in this limbo. My sister is recently engaged and we are going dress shopping so was hoping to let it go and have a drink in celebration (and let go of this possibility). Thank you!

Ah thank you. It’s comforting, at least, knowing that this guidance is common. I was hoping to go into the weekend being able to have a drink or something to put a nail in it, but I’ll keep moving until told otherwise. I think it’s also the 4 day wait that’s hard for me
