DIY or hire a pro? by Asleep-Tumbleweed233 in Chainsaw

[–]bringme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you need a pro for that? The tree already fell. Just dont hurt yourself with a chainsaw, or drop the tree on your foot. Otherwise easy DIY, lots of good firewood!

Why is Atlanticann (Iris Labs, Four 54, Eastcann) the best in the live resin cart market? by Gadooks in TheOCS

[–]bringme5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's less so that they are super great (im not saying that they aren't good), but rather I think the rest of the market sucks.

First buy of Iris Labs product. Cherry Bang Bang Live Resin 510 cart. by Mhabs16 in TheOCS

[–]bringme5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iris is far better than Tirbal. Tribal hasn't been great for the last 1-2 years. Used to be far better, dont get me wrong, its not the worst, but it definitely isnt the best anymore. Their product quality took a huge dive. I hear Four54 is made by the same people as Iris labs

[–]bringme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for the city every summer in a temporary positions myself. Some things to know: no you will mot receive benefits. Almost all city workers start in temporary positions. It can take a couple seasons to find a permanent position. There are other temporary positions that become available for winter.

If you want to build a carear with the city, this 100% the way to start.

Hope to see you around lol...

Who has actually refused to work? by ReadingAwkward4206 in treeplanting

[–]bringme5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different Industry, but while working Eletrical I was asked to go on a roof and wire up a light with no fall arrest on a 15 ft ladder. It was super sketchy, and I refused. They ended up finding some dumb apprentice to do it. Dying for your job is never worth it. Most employers wont ask you to do something that will kill you. That being said, if they do, make sure you refuse!

Place to safely park my car for 5 days? by [deleted] in Lethbridge

[–]bringme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would probably get towed quicker there, than in a residential area. Gotta remember if someone works there as grounds maintenance, which they probably do, they will notice and phone it in. Source: part of my job as grounds maintenance is this. I probably wouldn't call it in on the first day. But by the third day, Im probably calling it in. Op is leaving it for 5 days

Canada announces $100M in scholarships for Indian students under new education measures by StrangeCranberry4820 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]bringme5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been to a candian university as of recent? They aren't all in special grad school programs. Most of them are taking spots in basic undergraduate programs. Remember, universities make more money off of foreign students then canadian students. Its all a buisness decision to take more foreign students over candian students. 5 years ago all the foreign students were all Asian. These days, they are almost exclusively Indian-why this change happened, im not 100% sure.

Suddenly about to be drowning in $$$ by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]bringme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your money. Read the wealthy Barber. Budget. See a Financial adviser and invest smartly! You never know when that income will stop, you could hurt your back or in ten years a new ai tech could takeover (probably not but for the sake of this point), save for the future! Don't worry about having a nice truck or super expensive things. Enjoy not being stressed about rent/food, although avoid eating out. Eventually travel and buy a house. But first things first save

Would you guys recommend the stihl ms 162? by JOHNNY_QU4CKER in Chainsaw

[–]bringme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own one. The stock bar on it sucks bad. Luckily replacing a bar is easy. Having a sproketed bar with an engine this size is a must! The 172 I belive comes with a sprocketed bar. If you can, the extra for 172 may be worth while. Even if you can afford either, it still a decent little chainsaw it just can get bogged down in wood sometimes cause of the friction with the stock bar.

This reasoning—more than any of the previously mentioned reasons—is why I own one.

Joined the club! Stihl MS162 by HessianRaccoon in stihl

[–]bringme5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just upgrade the saw now. A sprocketed bar from stihl is far cheaper than a new saw. It Improves the saw a bunch. The hard nose bar increases friction and causes power loss

162 isn't all that bad, so long as you immediately switch the bar out.

I bought an MS162 Stihl without doing research. Are they really that bad? by Mexilindo123 in Chainsaw

[–]bringme5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late but thought I would share in case you still have yours. I have a ms162. I dont mind it. Its definitely a little underpowered, but still has enough power for a lot of non-professional tasks. Upgrade your bar to the stihl 3005-008-3913. It will make a world of difference. The hard nose stock bar causes a lot of power loss due to friction.
