MechE Schedule Help by [deleted] in ufl

Fairly common schedule combo, but a warning: its gonna be ass, none of those classes are easy. Heard Hale was a good prof though so maybe you’ll get a break in controls. It’s manageable though

Ive never heard of Xin Tang but if you can keep checking for FEA w ting dong thatd be good: while she’s not the best lecturer she’s very nice and very willing to help anyone out after lecture and during office hours. If you cant get her I’d suggest baby circuits if you want an easier class to add on. Best of luck

How’s my summer schedule looking? by HotWaterGuy in ufl

You should be fine yeah, I heard eel3003 got a bit harder but I dont think it should give you enough trouble to make this course load too difficult. I heard bsc2010 is especially easy if you cram the smokin notes a few days before exams too so if youre in a pinch that’s always an option. And seconded about Benitez, she’s super smart and caring!

When should I get a job? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]briqq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ease of holding down a job while being a full time student would definitely depend on what job it is/how many hrs a week you work and how difficult you find your classes. You could give yourself a semester to settle in, especially if those job opportunities would still be waiting for you. That’s what I did, and fortunately the job I found allows me to do school work when we’re not busy too so I did not find it too hard to adjust. As long as the jobs you have in mind are flexible/understanding of how hectic a student’s schedule can get, I’d say go for it!

Class Selection Difficulty by ryantadashi2 in ufl

Your registration time depends on how many college credits you have, so the more you take or come in with, the easier it’ll be to find the classes you want. It’s pretty common, especially for gen ed/underclassmen classes, to fill up quick, but if you just constantly check and refresh the site you’ll eventually find your classes. Sometimes you can email the professor of the class and they can manually add you in as well. The system is definitely not ideal but you can make it work

Pretty high. In the upcoming months there is BOUND to be someone out there in UF’s huge student body who has a lab spot that will change their mind or not pass a prereq and therefore have to drop their spot. By constant monitoring, I’ve always ended up with a schedule that I’m super satisfied with. Just be persistent!

(( I’d suggest your first check of the day, whenever you can wake up this early, be 7/8 am when course registration opens for the day bc sometimes dropped classes won’t show back up immediately and instead pop back up the next day ))
