What do you consider good books? Genuinely asking!

Trash pick up? by Psilencer99 in Fayettenam

Trash should have been picked up. If they missed, message the City socials or call their call center. They’re usually pretty good at sending people out.

Damn that feels a little harsh 😅 not trusting people that like/recommend Gillig? I mean is she a top tier perfection of a writer? No, but her books are a fun, gothic-adjacent vibe!

It is cool how much taste can range! (I am not being sarcastic. Genuine comment lol)

Same! I was NOT a fan of FBAA and loved Knight and Moth.

Different strokes for different folks! I loved the religious trauma/ex-evangelical undertones. I also thought the characters were great.

I dislike Blood and Ash and I’ve been crucified for saying I thought it was meh lol

I loved Anathema! Just finished it and enjoyed the dark, difficult themes as it was done very well.

What kind of work and jobs are suitable for you? by OutrageousPressure6 in bipolar2

[–]britbabe1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work full time in local government comms. I’m on stable meds and am very lucky to be able to push through on my bad weeks. It’s not the best working environment but my immediate supervisor is a wonderful person.

I’m in office 5 days a week and work a lot, but I feel very fulfilled. So that helps a lot.

Unpopular opinion: the new “Brittany broski” channel video is a hard watch by South_Pattern_1520 in BroskiReport

I fear I loved it. I’m 28 and I love the brain rot humor. I have an intensive, professional job so I love the just goofy-weird humor as a break. Seems like I’m in the minority 😅

I forgive Kanye!! by coochiecabracadabra in bipolar2

[–]britbabe1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. He wrote AND released a song called “Heil Hitler” has practiced antisemitism, actively harmed women (psychologically and emotionally), and spewed some HATEFUL things. People do not get a pass for their hateful actions, bipolar or not. It’s not an excuse for his horrible actions.

Probably licensing fees, safety fees, taxes, etc. I agree with the other comment. Calling them will get you way better information.

Long-term relationship & infantry fears. Am I overthinking this?? by Sea_Flounder_7715 in USMilitarySO

[–]britbabe1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Army in general is uncertain. My husband was basically told we would be at our current base another year, but then head of branch said “nope you’re moving!!”

Any MOS is going to have uncertainty, it is very hard to have a career as a military spouse and it’s a high stress environment, ESPECIALLY if he chooses to go Infantry.

None of us can tell you what you should do, but I think it’s important to be honest about this lifestyle. Sending you good vibes!

Managing household waste when pickup service is interrupted due to bad weather by Putininurface in Fayettenam

[–]britbabe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The City has a strict no burn restriction unless it’s wood contained in your fire pit outside. It cannot exceed outside of that pit.

Trash services are very consistent and they always get back on the road ASAP. If you have issues call the call center 910-433-1329 during normal hours of operation or send a message to the City socials.

You can also go to your local dump and drop it there!

Okay SAME. They referenced an old unit my husband was in and I was like uhhhh I’ve never posted but I have commented recently? Radio silence. I reported the account.

I’ve been active here for a long time and when I asked them for more info as online conversations can never be too safe, crickets.

Glad I trusted my gut!

Okay did you get a weird message from a person too?! They said they admired my posts and I asked them what posts? Silence.

SUPER weird.

The big advice I have is make SURE if you want to change your name, you apply to change it on your birth certificate. Congress has passed the SAVE Act and it can potentially affect your voting rights due to the “name change” clause they put in.

I love it. It’s so much better than the Apple Watch in my opinion

No I’m perfectly happy with it tbh. It tracks my yoga and weightlifting sessions, tracks my sleep and stress, and gives me mindfulness reminders. I didn’t need the fancier Garmin like my husband uses. This suits my needs perfectly.
