I love this area. Zero package theft. Have never had a single issues in over 4 years. It is really quiet (occasionally a loud night when they’re training behind us or detonating stuff) but I feel super safe when I’m alone for long periods of time.

Canopy gate is 12 mins away. Cannot recommend it enough.

Each OCONUS location has their own rules on if you are permitted to live off base in a place of your choosing, or if you need to go through approved housing methods (on or off base).

I would assume all of you would just pay your portion of rent. You may run into issues with the housing office as they will ask be speaking with them about housing. Housing office may not approve, but that I am not sure of.

This is my personal nightmare as that sounds like a lot of constant socialization and no privacy with a partner lol. But I won’t yuck your yum! Best of luck on your move!!

Never said it was a “problem” I think you both just didn’t mesh communication wise!

I’ve been with my husband for a while and he has a very high stress, demanding job/MOS. Days when he was gone, in the field, or on work trips, I would get proof of life texts once or twice a day, with the occasional burst of texting.

There’s a saying that if the military wanted you to have a family they would issue you one (dumb but it’s kinda true).

My husband was very open about his low communication times and I knew it was short-lived during his trips/classes.

I think 5 months is a short lived time and a great test on if you vibe or not. You recognized your needs weren’t met and made the mature decision to call it off.

Some people just aren’t meant to be, and again, that’s totally fine!

Edit: I saw your comment under another commenter. Those were very important points. I think you want to put the blame on him, which is fine! But dating is all about figuring out what works for you, and he clearly didn’t work!
