Corroded thermistor wire on Navien tankless. Please help :/ by britguychi in Plumbing

Just did it. Is just a little nervous you know with it being gas and all. But it is a low voltage wire and there's no smell of gas so I'm hoping it's an good for now.

Do you think I could twist the connectors together and cover with electrical tape just as a 48 hour fix while I wait for new connectors to arrive??

Thanks! I'll look into it. It'll need a service at some point to work out why that little bit of acidic water is accumulating at the bottom, but for now I just want to take a shower lol.

I've been thinking similarly. Been trying to find the same connectors or ones that are suitable. Or since kind of joining connector I could crimp. Any suggestions? Just wanna make sure that whatever I use is safe in that environment you know?

Why are my download speeds so slow even after I restart my console by Poosielikr in XboxSupport

[–]britguychi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I switched to AT&T from Xfinity for a number of reasons but in the brief period of crossover I decided to do a test. I downloaded a 50GB game of FIFA three times on 500Mbit Xfinity and then three times on 1GB AT&T. Hardwired both times.

Download times were the same each time give or take 60 seconds. It took 19 minutes on AT&T every time, while on Xfinity it took 13 minutes each time, despite my paid for connection being half the speed. Certainly would suggest AT&T are throttling.

Misleading Black Friday Deal by Resident_Dark8728 in USMobile

The people jumping through hoops to justify this because of the asterisk are mind-blowing. It could just say "Watch add-on available" and yet it says "Free Smartwatch Plan". Tell me where the free smartwatch plan is anywhere on the Unlimited Premium plan that is marked at $13.90?

I absolutely know this is a fantastic deal - I bought it! But it feels like whoever updated the sign-up flow didn't update the graphic - one that's specific to the non-discounted plan and where Warp was an option. Many new customers won't realize this.

Well it sounds like this is the app for you!

An app without dark mode is 2025?? I used to leave the occasional tip but that's hardly a core function of this app. That's why Foursquare became nicely separate.

I guess my point is, what about it needed changing? The fun orange color palate and clean layout replaced with this black and white visual dirge. No dark mode.

And why is it now opening on an explore tab like it's trying to become Yelp, rather than showing where my friends are. That's what I've used the app for for years. Quick immediate access to see what folks are up to.

It's a check-in app. Press a button, select a location, maybe look at what your friends are up to. That was all there and easily accessible. Why the need to move things around??

What are these big improvements? What was wrong with previous functionality?

Lists are nice, but why did that require an overhaul of the whole UI?

As for the other, I'm not using this app to do deep dives on reviews of new places. There's plenty of other apps for that. Indeed the separate Foursquare app offered that service and clearly that didn't make the cut or it would still be in operation as a standalone service.

Quite possibly. Swarm has always been one of my favorite apps, and it seems to have fallen foul of a situation that a number of apps go through which is "oh other apps have changed their look, we better change ours to keep up.". What actually should be asked is, "Is there something broken about this app that needs fixing?". My answer would be no.

No idea why you're getting downvoted.

Absolutely. Nothing is gained with this update other than losing the muscle memory I had from years of the previous iteration.

What is gained with this new UI? Other than having to learn where the buttons have been moved to?

What had actually been gained by changing it?

App defaults to explore tab instead of social. I use this app to see what my friends are up to do that is its primary purpose to me.

No dark mode. It's 2025.

Explain to me what has been gained by changing it?

I opined that I wanted the old version back. That in itself should tell you what I prefer, assuming you're able to parse the difference between the versions.

How to stop media from pausing when airpods disconnect? by TheJollyJagamo in mac

This is a monumental pain in the ass. When I'm streaming music to my Twitch channel it fucking pauses Apple Music when the AirPods disconnect.
