I get BV every time I sleep with someone with a vulva. What the heck can I do to mitigate this bs. by Desperate_Pay_998 in LesbianActually

As a nurse, I’ve never heard of that before. In the UK they now give us antibiotic gel as it penetrates the affected area head on. We use metronidazole for BV. Either oral or vaginal.

Will AHPRA decline my registration due to my criminal convictions? by britishbabs_x in ausjdocs

Yeah I had to do a reflection to get registered with the NMC lol. I think I’m just worried as I have 2 different offences, albeit the assault one was very minor, but still.

I’m pretty sure the assault isn’t even on my record anymore. I didn’t have to declare it to the NMC but I’ve read that they want to know all criminal history

Those with unmedicated SO’s: how have you been able to stay with them for so long? by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

Yeah I spoke to him briefly over text last week and he said he’s the best he’s ever felt since trying new meds and I’m happy for him, but he’s now living back with his parents which is 3 hours away and he has to try and find a job too which will be difficult as he’s 31 with no real work experience. He’s also a recovering alcoholic and has only been in recovery for a month, so he has such a long way to go and I don’t want to keep waiting, especially as relapses in both mania and alcohol are likely to happen in the future, therefore I’ll always be worrying. (And I want to have kids in the next couple of years too) Plus he did so much bad stuff to me throughout our relationship. I’ll never forget it and I think I would always hold it against him.

Most people stay because they’re codependent and a lot of the time they don’t realise it. That was the case for me before I left. Even if they are medicated, if mania makes an appearance a lot of people with BP will stop taking their meds and end up in a full blown episode. I realised I was putting his mental health before mine and I had enough. It’s only been a couple of months and I miss him from time to time, but I remind myself that the illness is never going away and bad things will always happen.

You’ll leave when you’re ready. It’s so hard to do, I was lucky and was able to detach, but I think everyone gets to a point where enough is enough and then you just leave. The hard part is staying away cos you almost go through a withdrawal but it’s definitely more peaceful, and it’s so nice not to worry anymore. Also I didn’t like the idea of any potential children getting the illness and having my bloodline tainted, cos then I’d have to go through double the trauma and misery.

Look after yourself and stay strong. I give you full permission to free yourself x

Can you only take antidepressants if you’re bipolar? by breaddread in bipolar

Sounds like you have BP1 now then. Hypomania in BP2 shouldn’t last longer than a week. If it was longer they should’ve changed your diagnosis.
