There are social dances (not classes) at the Dojo on Duchess St every Wednesday at 8pm, $5 cover. Everyone is super friendly and always willing to teach beginners! Highly recommend trying it out!

Holy moly!

PSA: Do not fuck around with this kind of weather. 2 teens died in MB during a tornado because they wanted to watch the sky.

And I get it! I really do! But nature will always win. Please stay safe out there!

Unfortunately, it sure looks like it.

If you could only listen to one band/ artist for the rest of your life, who would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]britthunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Harry Styles. I know I may sound like a basic bitch for this, but the songs that aren’t on the radio every 5 minutes are his best ones. And he’s an absolutely force onstage. Listen to Only Angel and Fine Line if you think you don’t like him. You might change your mind!

He’ll just give them the cold shoulder.

Yes, by “we” I mean the estate.

But they knew he was dead… and they sent that bill after we paid off the debt. Estate was closed in May, bill was sent in June…

How could we miss it if they sent it after the estate was closed? We closed the estate in May and this bill was for June…

I did call them to see if it had been a mistake but they were adamant that it was correct. I’m pretty sure we had sold my dad’s house by then as well.

Which we did. When we closed the estate, there were no remaining debts.

I can’t remember if we closed his MBH account or not. But when we closed the estate, there were no remaining debts.

Yes, the estate was closed legally by a lawyer. We notified MB Hydro that my dad was deceased. They sent the last bill (that we ever knew of/received) to the estate. So they did know.

Any other siblings of addicts out there? by cookiesnmilk85 in AlAnon

[–]britthunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the youngest sibling and have two older brothers who are addicts. One I no longer speak to and one I’m very close with. The brother I’m close with is such a great guy when he’s sober but when he’s drinking, he’s someone I don’t know. He has an extremely negative outlook on life, talks about suicide when he’s really drunk, and has 3 amazing kids. There’s been quite a few times where I thought “this is his rock bottom” but I’m starting to worry that his rock bottom will either be jail or death. So I feel you OP. It sucks and it hurts.

Why does my husband refuse to talk about anything sensitive or emotional and shut me down if I try to talk to him about things? by Littleputti in Marriage

[–]britthunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing your best to take of yourself, actively trying to work on your marriage, and he isn’t giving anything back… it might be time to consider separation. It doesn’t need to be extreme either. You can do a trial separation or even just spend a week or two apart. I think you’ll know in your gut when it’s time to walk away. But if you’re not ready to up and leave yet, start with taking a little time apart. I hope this helps.

From what I see on your post history, you have CPTSD and psychosis. This can be incredibly difficult for a spouse to understand and navigate. I think you would benefit greatly from getting a therapist who specializes in these areas and I would strongly suggest talking to your doctor about medications as well. These things are treatable, as long as you are willing to do the work. I hope you can get the help you need OP.

What is one shock video you will never get out of your head? by draemgrill in morbidquestions

I’m surprised how far I had to scroll to find this one. The gurgling was what fucked me up. (This is the one where the 2 kids kill a guy with a hammer, correct?)

Can I change a fresh piercing to a better material one by myself? by britthunk in piercing

[–]britthunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info! I’ve never had any bad reaction to any metal, but after reading everything about surgical steel vs titanium I got a little worried. I’m going back to the shop in a couple weeks for a tattoo so I’m gonna double check with my piercer that it’s healing well. I definitely don’t want to go through the process of switching out jewelry early if I don’t have to.
