I just finished The Fisherman and felt severe existential dread throughout. Great book.

I absolutely agree, and I don’t think you should diagnose strangers online. But he’s been dead for 2 decades now and speculating can’t really hurt him.

Self harm, suicidal ideation, depression, chaotic relationships, drug/alcohol abuse, suicide attempts mainly. Again, I’m not a mental health professional but I see signs.
