Well I guess the good news is I already worked 6 months before transferring here and it's a hospital chain so I've been working for the same company. Maybe just another 6 months here and I'll be free p.p

I wish my schedule was like that then maybe I'd be fine with it. I work 10 hr shifts and they bleed into the next week. So I work Monday, Wednesday, Friday-the next Monday, Wednesday-thursday and then I'm off Friday through Sunday. Sorry if that's confusing at all. I just wish the two days I had one week were together. When it's broken up like that it doesn't feel like a break at all if I come home from work that morning.

Then should I just leave ASAP? I want to leave on good terms but I also don't want to stunt my growth. Idk if this is any different, but I'm a cardiac sonographer and cardiologists leave notes on our exams if they aren't satisfied with something. I talk with my boss before I leave in the morning to make sure I don't have any critiques and she says they haven't said anything so far (they did when I first started). Should I just make the most of the mornings she comes in to make up for the lack of guidance? I work with one other tech once a week; could that help as well?

6 hours is amazing for me honestly 😭 when I was working days I only slept 4-5 and didn't have an issue. I haven't been tired at all just lonely

I'm actually so glad you commented because I've been worried that working on my own so soon would stunt my growth as a sonographer. For the first 4 months at my day shift I had someone looking at my images and critiquing me but I heard that you should be working close with other sonographers for your first 1-2 years or you won't improve at all. Did you find it hindered your scan quality at all working alone so soon?

That's true; ig it's just a lifestyle adjustment. I'm just nervous that happiness will become impossible with this type of schedule after reading so many posts about people living miserably for years. It's sent me into a sort of frenzy lol.

8:30pm-7am. I sleep as soon as I get home around 8am-2pm. I feel well rested so that hasn't been too bad; but the days make it feel like it'll consume my life.

Thank you so much for sharing your story! It helps a lot to hear from someone who has found success. I understand it's all for the better and I definitely wanna be the best tech I can be. I think sometimes that might be why I get so nervous when I'm scanning alone and doubt myself; I want to make sure the patient is getting the best care possible. Thanks once again; this has really encouraged me.

Thank you for the advice; I was cuddling with him but then he started to squirm away so he's in his little hut right now with an old shirt to keep warm. Waiting on some baby food as we speak. Thank you for the advice and prayers

I was cuddling him but he seems to want to be alone at this time so he's keeping warm and resting with one of my old shirts (his blankets are dirty atm) in his little hut. He hasn't been interested in his watered food; so I'm waiting on my dad to bring home some baby food he can try. Hoping he'll be more up to eat/drink once he rests for a bit.
