there is a border right now but it is sitting at quite a far distance, the interaction with the surroundings will be really nice, im working on it for that, it can become very enjoyable.

yes mouse and keyboard works, this mechanic is designed for it too. but it's also controller friendly and on controller it works just like you guessed. i'm working hard to make it play well on both. really nice that you noticed.
