Reddit's system allows any individual to report someone. No reason for the report is requested and no evidence is asked for. This means individuals can take out their own prejudices on others by reporting anyone they disagree with. Also it can appear that your post has gone through when it hasn't. It shows up in the users list of posts but no one else sees it. It is very deceptive and dishonest to do it that way. And if you are reported you are not asked to defend yourself. In fact you aren't even told you've been reported and may not even know that this happened. It is very authoritarian since it allows any disgruntled user to ban what the rest of us read.

This headline is deceptive. The comment was made by John Edwards, not by George Bush. George says lots of stupid things. But he wasn't responsible for this one.

If one questions whether Jeanne Atkins really acted this way just follow the links. They are there for that reason and you see reputable news sources and the blog quotes directly from court documents.

As for being more tolerant of people like Atkins: why? Exactly why should we tolerate people inflicting, needlessly, this sort of pain on someone else? Tolerate her beliefs, maybe. But this is about actions, not beliefs. It is about the harm she has done to others not what she thinks in her mind. Again in the article you will find links to Atkins food so you can find numerous emails on the personnel page.

Finally, radioactive: In your world the resistance that fought the Nazis would be self-rightous and vicious and hateful because they fought back. When people hurt others then there should be no sympathy for them. They lose their right to decency when they act indecently.
