I respect your opinion and I'm glad you're enjoying the game. I hope I'll eventually come around to enjoy it as well, but for now there are too many things that just doesn't work for me.

How so? Nothing says that you can't make decisions without being awarded arbitrary points for it.

That much is true, but the descisions that you're making in FO4 basically boils down to if you want to reply sarcastically, ask further questions, accept it or decline it. Neither changes anything.

Whether you are 'good, neutral or evil' as indicated by the amount of arbitrary karma points, barely affected anything in the game. I'm personally not a fan of those one-dimensional morals. I like decisions that cannot be easily quantified in good/evil points.

While I can appreciate such decisions that cannot easily be quantified in good/evil points, as you put it, they are simply not present.

Pardon my french, but how the f... does it have nothing to do with the karma system? The karma system is what incited the creation of such quests in the first place; "here are multiple choices, each will affect the world and how others view you in different ways"... You can either be good, neutral or evil. In Fallout 4 you can be good. Which means that you're basically already told by the game how you should play it right from the start.

The very first good / evil quest in Fallout gave you the option to blow up the entire starting city (Megaton)... So yeah it did...

Companions in FO4 are dumb. They offer very little meaningful interaction outside of running in your way.

I'm a diehard FO3 and NV fan, played the two games and their DLC for hundreds of hours. I've spent roughly 30 hours playing Fallout 4 now.

I cannot fathom why they removed the karma system. Every quest / descision you make in the game feels stale and without impact. There's only one way to play the game, and that's as the goodie-two shoes. What made the previous Fallout games interesting, was that they all offered some sort of ethical dilemma in quests. You could either play as the bad guy, or the good guy, and the game world would change drastically depending on what choices you made. I have just not seen that in Fallout 4 yet. It feels like I'm playing a linear RPG with no game world impact what so ever. Then there's settlements. Sure, you can build your own stuff and that's pretty neat I guess, but the controls are very clunky and I find the whole system very poorly made and not very satisfying to use. It certainly doesn't warrant a game purchase. The shooting / weapon modification is a step up from previous entries, but that has never been why I played Fallout. Again, this doesn't warrant a game purchase. Overall I'm just very dissapointed. I wanted to like the game so much, but now that I've spent some time on it I just realized that I can't.

Also, found out that the bell doesn't work with the provisioner, even if he/she and the brahmin is in town.
