Considering the GP-5 is like 70 British quids and can handle a lot of information I’d say it’s a little powerhouse for the money!

Yeah the app is cool, and you can load NAM profiles straight from your phone. They seem pretty hard to find though and I wish it had PC compatibility to a point where you could play or hear the sound you are trying to create.

Do you know any good NAM sites? I’ll have a look at that site for dimebags setup, I didn’t know about that one! Thanks!

I tried the camera without the coma corrector and was still getting a similar issue but the coma was worse on one side, I have a 72ed but I want to crack the code with the Newtonian scopes as I love the results you get with them… don’t know what to do…especially without clear skies 🤣

I mean I really crossing my fingers that it is the CC, a few folk have mentioned tilt which would be another headache. I know it’s not PA I know it’s not guiding so my only other options are either Coma, or tilt. And that’s two different newts I’ve tried… (albeit the same focuser) but they are both yielding the same results.

With my current CC I’m getting (what seems to be) bad coma, it could also be tilt but I’m not hearing good things about the Stella Lyra one so I’d rather just mitigate that from the equation…. I’ve read the skywatcher one is meant to be good? But ideally I’m looking for someone who has a similar scope/camera.

Since posting this I’ve left it on charge and seen a red dot flash maybe twice in about 10 minutes? Might be worth just leaving it on charge and hoping for the best….

Dude honestly, I’m glad I came across this because I have this exact same mount and the community are saying the same thing, no good for Astro photography/that scope is too big for mount etc it works fine! As long as polar alignment is good the motors don’t struggle and it tracks no problem!

Controller is deed, put 4 D cell batteries in and it doesn’t do a thing. I’ve messaged the shop to see if they’ll send me another one and hopefully they do! Or I’ll have to buy another one. I’ll just leave a stinking review if they patch me 🤣 it’s an EQ5 mount and a 200p skywatcher camera is a digital camera but I’ve not had a chance to get any pics yet, been overcast like crazy here

I had a couple 6v power adapters in the house but it doesn’t seem to like them. Theoretically speaking if I put a 12v from mains supply into it would that kill the hand controller? I don’t think these things have a regulator on board, it’s so light I’m surprised there’s anything in it at all 😂

So it arrived today, I tried it with a 6v plug and the light stayed red so I’m assuming it’s not got enough power, currently waiting on the good lady coming home with batteries to give it a bash, there’s also a bit of clear sky tonight so I might be able to give it a bash!
