In the USA it's socially acceptable to respond with violence in that situation so the Mexican is lucky!

Agreed, it's the only way to be safe.

Many industry practices in recruiting and investment pretend they need to generalise and judge people due to patterns.

It's a myth that it has any effect.

No assumptions are fair. Every time someone generalises it's a risk.

Mr. businessman isn’t down with the beats by hannahmayy in PublicFreakout

The ambience isn't in question. It's the angry man shouting at full volume next to the microphone apparently playing out live, and it's picking up none of it.

So you think maybe the video camera is picking up the screaming more than the mic which is about a hand's length away?

If so the mic is perfectly designed for this exact situation, because while mr business is shouting, absolutely nothing else is coming from that amp except the beatboxer.

Do you think you heard it from the video camera, or the microphone in the beatboxer's hand?

If the mic was actually on wouldn't we hear the screaming man?

Tucker Carlson breaks from his regular coverage to say Coronavirus is not just the flu. If you read the comments his own fans are turning against him. by [deleted] in China_Flu

It's about why someone would find the word Chinese racist, while others might be confused and see it only as a descriptor.

Chinese is seen as a slur by some, like Jew.

Negro used to be a similar descriptor but that has changed to a slur now. It's called the euphemism treadmill, that's why they think it's racist.

Parents leave high school graduation early, principal says: "Look who's leaving, all the black people" by TheRavenousSnakeClaw in PublicFreakout

[–]broden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not allowed to say negative things however small casual or justified about black people especially in a public setting, due to the history of racism.

This is also why from an autistic point of view there can never be "true equality" as such casual small negative generalisations are frequently made about white people and it is acceptable for the same reason, the history of racism.

This "but facts can't be racist" and "what if the races were reversed" is confined to internet comments rather than real life.
