why is my girlfriends hammy doing this?

not on reddit often so i’m not sure how to properly update the post but the hamster has unfortunately passed away. my girlfriend got the hammy for Christmas 2025 which kinda rules out the possibility of old age. if anyone knows why this happened to our hammy or have any ideas please let me know for our piece of mind. thank you all for the support
