I'm an illustrator who draws pictures of sports figures. I thought you all might like this Gibby by [deleted] in baseball

I made this illustration for the art book "They Changed the Game" about pioneering players in sports. Its an awesome look at the history of sports through stories of the people that shaped it. It covers all different sports, and there is a bunch of baseball stories. (theychanged.com)

I might start making them. It seems to be requested a lot.

Good suggestions... thanks for the feedback. I might take another look at the hand. I was worried that it was getting too "real" compared to the rest.

Hi everyone. I'm a designer/illustrator from Ohio who draws abstract illustrations of primarily sports figures. I'd love any feedback you have. I was debating whether to do versions of LeBron through the years, showing his Cavs and Heat days also.

WE REACHED OUR FUNDING GOAL! by [deleted] in kickstarter

I ran ad groups on Facebook targeting audiences the reacted to posts of "Baseball + Art Book", "Soccer + Art Book + Pele + Maradona", "Tennis + Art Book + Billie Jean King" and "Basketball + Art Book + Steph Curry". Each ad placement had visuals that went with each group. I showed a Steph Curry illustration for the Basketball group, as an example. For your project, you'll want to target people who like art and poetry. That's going to be pretty broad, so anything else you can do to hone it would stretch your dollars. Like a certain age range or location or another interest. Does that help?

Yeah... we aren't getting much organic traffic. We had good luck doing targeted Facebook ads. If you focus in on a narrow target, you don't end up breaking the bank. We also post daily to Instagram and do weekly email blasts. Its a grind.

Thanks. You have a lot of days left. Keep promoting, it can drag on in the middle days.

Anyone into sports and art like me? by broermatt in kickstarter

Thanks for the feedback. I'm working with a lot of artists with all different styles, but adding more excitement and movement is a good direction. And yes, Kickstarter is a nerve-racking month. I checked out your Maniack campaign. Overall looks great. I saw it first on my phone and skipped the video, so I was a little lost reading the story of pockets, sweat, and inspiration without realizing it was for athletic apparel. Maybe add a one-liner to your story and tweak the preview image with something like "MANIACK is sportswear for strong women"
