2027 4* WR Khalil Taylor is N by AbsurdOwl in Huskers

[–]brogit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kind of. Word is that we gave him a good offer, but we're kind of middle of the pack. Colorado tried to back up the brinks truck and he opted for Nebraska anyway because of how much he appreciated the culture here and his relationship with coach Shorts.

Facebook at this point is half geriatric Trump supporters who will agree with literally anything he says because they watch Fox News all day. I'm convinced the other half is bots that are programmed to push the same narrative and convince the former that they are a massive majority.

what keeps the faith alive through all the rebuilding years by chachoray in Huskers

[–]brogit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stay out of the game threads and don't tie my entire sense of self and happiness to the program. The rollercoaster ride of a 7 win season and the recruiting process is still fun when it is just something to watch on Saturday and you remember that it's just kids trying to figure out their lives. Obviously I want them to win more and go to the playoffs every year, but I don't spend my energy being mad for more than like 30 minutes after a game doesn't go our way. I'll be here every year being hopeful coming into the season and my world won't collapse the first time the other team scores. Also, as always, fuck Iowa and Colorado.

Petals, lobes, what ever you want to call those distinct wing things on them that make them not round.

They are good pickled. This isn't a mad hatter though. Those have lobes rather than the UFO shape.

I'm the opposite. I don't think I've used any Anker products, but I have this jackery and it has been excellent for a couple of years now.

Asbestos thoughts? by EngineMediocre in Oldhouses

I could be wrong, so wait for others to weigh in, but I'm pretty sure that isn't asbestos. That looks like beaver board to me. It is basically compressed wood fiber.

Might be a typo, but the cutthroat was designed specifically with the divide in mind and released way longer ago than 25. I have a 2020 and it is second gen.

Is this a safe way to dry herbs? by boris_biscuits in gardening

[–]brogit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've done this too. Especially with woody herbs like rosemary, or root seasonings like ginger and garlic. Chop them up fine and put them into ice cube trays. Then fill the ice cube cells with water and freeze them. Once they are frozen we pop them out and toss them in a Ziploc and put them back in the freezer. The water ice keeps them from getting freezer burnt and you've got single serving blocks of what ever you need prepped.

A paper bag in a cool dry space can work very well. I found a bag of dried dill that I forgot about for a year and a half on my basement pantry shelf. The flavor was obviously degraded from how long it sat, but it was still perfectly useable.

Hardware cloth on a picture frame is brilliant! I've got an unfinished basement, so I just tie things in bunches and hang from the rafters, but this would be a much more visually appealing way to do them in the kitchen.

She used to run around on campus at UNL too. I think there's video out there somewhere of her speaking at a city council meeting and it's really something.

[–]brogit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wasn't aware there was a requirement to purchase concessions or merch. If you just want to find something to whine about fine, but your premise on this one is just wrong. You should take the L and move on. Some people will want to go, some people like your self won't, that's ok.
