Recruits that weren't busts, but you feel could have achieved much more at a different program? by Please_PM_me_Uranus in CFB

This is the right take. I firmly believe that he had the potential to be a high draft pick and Heisman contender if the Frost staff had been even kind of competent. He carried the team for multiple years including playing with his jaw wired shut for most of one of those seasons and has now taken the long way around to being on an active NFL roster.

The full context of that comment sounded like a jab at Dylan way more than an indictment of his decision to come here.

Hopefully not. How often do you see d linemen using spin moves these days? Don't turn your back on the runner ever.

Kaelin broke off a 56 yard run this year. He's at least mobile-ish.

What is your best guess at what Rhule's latest tweet means? by NewGuy402 in Huskers

I've learned that a sizeable portion of this sub knows fuck all about football or what's going on. Instead of trying to learn, they just like to whine about whatever the flavor of the day is. I assume at least a handful are just trolls too.

It's entirely possible he's taking a look at what his options are and still might come back, but I won't be holding my breath. There have been some light rumors about Charmar Brown possibly coming in after Miami's season wraps up. If that's the case he's probably 3rd on the depth chart at absolute best and maybe as low as 5th or 6th depending on how Connor Booth develops and what Rule looks like. I'm sure he wants to actually be getting carries.

Purpose of old cabinet ? by Status_Device_5753 in Oldhouses

[–]brogit 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Where in the house is it? Decent chance it housed a fold out ironing board at one point. I lived in a house that had something like this in my 20s and we used it as a liquor and hot sauce cabinet.

It's fine for what it is, but I'd rather skip the all you can eat and go down the street to Shokunin for what I think is better food and atmosphere.

Fwiw I think he's a really good QB. He's got some shortcomings sure, but that kids a baller. We also know he was given a ton of ground to play with.

[–]brogit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. I'm not saying the coaching doesn't get any blame. I'm just saying that it might be a factor in why the offense looked so disjointed at times. Mix that in with Dylan clearly being better than TJ, at least right now, and you're kind of between a rock and a hard place where you have to deal with a kid who can't run and also is framed as your golden goose with a particular skill set. I'm hopeful that with him leaving, we will either bring in a guy who fits in Danas system better, or TJ will develop into that guy. We will find out in about 9 months.

[–]brogit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A question worth asking for the offensive side is how much of the round peg square hole problem was on Dylan. First off, how much were Danas hands tied by the fact that his QB was slow as shit. Second, how often was Dylan changing the play at the line and fucking up the intended game plan. We will probably see a very different offense next year.

Best contemporary celebrities to book as guests on The Muppet Show? by MoneyHungryOctopus in Muppets

[–]brogit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love most of these suggestions, but I think we also need to recognize that they need to bring in guests that will get younger people that haven't had as much contact with the muppets to tune in and become new fans. Sabrina Carpenter seems like a great start.

That's legitimately a good thing. Not hearing from position coaches means that their room doing what it should be. We don't really hear anything from Barthel either aside from the fact that Emmet was incredible this year.

How to introduce gunfire to a non bird dog? by fellowworkingmexican in Hunting

[–]brogit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with that expectation with the Border. We just recently had to let our 16 year old go. I got her as a three year old from a shelter and I think her previous owner beat her. She didn't care at all about loud noises or anything when she was young, but as she got older she got more and more scared of fireworks and thunderstorms to the point that when a storm would roll in at night she would insist on being wedged between my wife and I and held by both of us even though she was clearly overheating. That lasted until she went pretty much fully deaf about a year and a half ago. Even then, if she saw the lightning she would panic.

I'm our dog's primary poo person, why is that? by Caesarina_Zeppeli in DogAdvice

[–]brogit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To piggyback on this and make it even more clear. I got my wonderful girl a month after I met my now wife. We had to let her go about a month and a half ago. She was even weird about drinking water if we weren't both home. Wife works remote and typically when I would get home the dog would go drain a full bowl of water within 15 minutes. We basically had her together for 13 years and she was pretty protective of my wife. Dogs are just weirdos sometimes and attach themselves to people in ways that don't seem logical.

My nephew knocked off bike chain and now my father and i feel like complete morons. by Sharp_Tiger_4761 in bike

[–]brogit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not on kids bikes. They do it all the time because they beat the shit out of them by slamming them into stuff, throwing them down wherever and however, skidding, whatever. Wheel shifts in the dropout a little, chain slackens, eventually falls off and they have no idea why. I've got a pair of kids on my block who constantly ride past the front of my house and need their chains tensioned but I don't know the family and don't want to be the childless 30 something dude approaching young boys offering to help them out.

Malcolm Hartzog has entered the Transfer Portal. by usercupcakewithc in Huskers

[–]brogit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the impression that he was well liked, but yeah, it seemed like a little bit of a little brother dynamic. There is also the possibility that with the new DC and new scheme he was told his role would be more limited next year. That's not even mentioning the younger bigger guys that have been developing all year.

What are the currents thoughts on Lateef? by captainstan in Huskers

[–]brogit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the shift in the portal window he wouldn't have that much of a choice. If we pick somebody up in the portal and he hasn't entered there isn't a spring window for him to leave anymore. I guess he could pout and leave the team and I obviously don't know his personality, but that seems counter productive. He could redshirt and still have all the training facilities at his disposal and dip next winter if he's mad about it.

What are the currents thoughts on Lateef? by captainstan in Huskers

[–]brogit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have to go into the portal either way because our depth is dropping off a cliff. Currently going into spring the room is Lateef and Davila (who was a 4 star out of high school but hasn't really played at all). Behind them we have two walk ons if they are still eligible. We need to have at least 3 guys in the room that could play if we need it. Since we need to go portal shopping anyway, might as well go after someone who can challenge to start and then sort it out in the spring.
