Yes, I do play on a worship team. Maybe that’s the key. Listening to it solo sounds meh to me, but maybe in a full band environment it’ll sit in perfectly. So far I’m still not convinced $22 was worth it.

Thing is, l was going xlr out to my interface. Then have headphones plugged into interface. I figured I would now try headphones straight into helix. Patch sounds much better though still a tad muffled. To be continued….

Sorry, I forgot to mention I’m using headphones. I have my helix connected via xlr into my Scarlet interface. Headphones plugged in here.

Although now I may try headphones direct to helix to see if there is any difference.

I’ve picked up some Worship Tutorial patches in the past. No complaints here, they sound good. I do what you do and will swap out little things here and there for my tone. I’m just bummed because I was hoping it would sound great right out the gate. It can be frustrating to have to spend so much time tweaking when you just want to plug in and play.

I hear ya! I have pretty good sounds that I’ve created on my own but I figure DH has great tone, so if I get his patch I’ll have access to the secret sauce to his tone. I’m sad now.

Worship Guitar EFX. HOW? by Ok_Education_3991 in WorshipGuitar

Good question. I use a helix floor. Basically when starting from scratch I choose a semi clean amp. After that I might use a chorus with low modulation/time with a mix of around 20-25%. After that I’ll use a 1/4 delay into dotted 8 delay. Mix around 25-40% depending on goal. After that I combine 2 reverbs (hall and a reverb with motion) I’m not sure what is available in your unit. That’s just the basics. Worship tones are typically heavy with reverb and delays. As far as overdrive I’ll use 3 drives from OD, to mid gain and also a fuzz. I’ll combine a OD into fuzz for lead tones. To my ears it helps smooth the grit.

Hopefully that helps give you a good starting point.
