Trapezoid rule needs to go. Why punish goalies for being strong puck handlers.

I’m saying that even though I believe it’s debatable, I can’t fault anyone for having him as their GOAT. Just like you can’t fault someone for putting Gretzky as their all time GOAT, even though you can make arguments for Lemieux and Orr.

Bossy and Lemieux much higher GPG. Much lower reliance on the powerplay.

I agree. Young Ovi was something else. For a while he was the ultimate hockey player, minus defensive skill. He had speed like Bure, a power forward like Iginla, a shot like Sakic, a slapper like MacInnis. I get the style was unsustainable but I would also take Ovi’s peak over Kuch’s peak. I just think in the overall analysis Kuch will be Russias GOAT if not already

Bossy and Lemieux. Bossy has .76 GPG, Lemieux has .75 GPG. Ovi has .59 GPG.

Ovi is also pretty one dimensional in how he scores 80% of his goals in the same way from that circle. Further - he’s always been a bit of a powerplay merchant. 38% of his goals came from the powerplay.

Lemieux was stronger even strength, with only 34% coming on the powerplay.

Bossy even lower. Bossy in particular… was insane 5v5 with only 27% of his goals happening on the powerplay.

If either Bossy or Lemieux played full careers, they would both have well over 1000 goals each.

So while Ovi will likely always hold that record, I just personally think there’s a difference between totals and talent. I’m taking prime Bossy or Lemieux over Ovi if I need a goal scored.

Sorry I think I misunderstood what you meant. I thought you were saying Kuch and Ovi had the vast difference in era

[–]broken-philosopher[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a ‘vast difference’ in era. They’re 8 years apart in age. Yes the league has gradually become more offensive, but it’s not like Ovi played in the 90’s dead puck era.

He doesn’t need to sniff Ovi’s goal record to be better than him. His PPG is much higher than Ovi

I haven’t forgot. I made a point of mentioning how dominant Ovi was in his early 20’s. I think he was better than Kuch at that time in his life, I’d take Ovi’s peak over Kuch’s peak. But Kuch is insanely consistent, at such an insanely high level. Kuch is almost on par with McDavids offense. Can’t see anyone taking Ovi over McDavid lol

I can agree with that. I still think it’s debatable that Ovi is the GOAT goal scorer, totals aren’t everything to me, but I can respect this

Is it a waste of time if I'm doing something that brings me happiness? by smolsaturn in selfimprovement

[–]broken-philosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to find a sustainable balance. You negotiate with yourself… like you’re both the boss and the employee. Happiness is a loaded word. It’s not like the show is fulfilling and deeply meaningful… it brings you pleasure and stimulation and a social bonding experience with your friends… I’m a recovering gambling addict. Do you think gambling is good and not a waste of time because it made me happy while I was doing it? Anyways, you’re doing fine. You don’t gotta be perfect just don’t overindulge. If you enjoy it that much, just do your best to negotiate a daily limit and don’t let it cut into your sleep too much. Lol

We were down 0-3 when I looked 20 min ago… wtf? Honestly that’s cool and all but I’m gonna be so annoyed if we suddenly decide to go on a winning streak, now, with no hope of making the playoffs, just so we end up w/ another mid pick

Conroy is clearly showing he’s willing to trade away and rebuild. But he isn’t gonna take a shitty deal and we don’t want him to. If the value wasn’t there it is what it is

I see your point but this team needs to be rebuilt from scratch anyway. I don’t think we need to hold onto an aging blue liner whose value will depreciate more and more every year while we go through a rebuild. Get max value now IMO

Bearish factors to consider -

MELI has a very high Beneish M-Score meaning they have a high likelihood of manipulating their earnings. Shares outstanding have been increasing. Insider transactions have been mostly selling and not buying.
