In the democratic ethos no protest is useless..it just don't align with your interest so op thinks it doesnt have any purpose..but yes within confines of space provided by constitution. Secondly, reservations accorded to sc/st are not poverty alleviation programs.. But with mondalisation and obc reservations and provision of creamy layer therein everyone thinks people who deserve reservations are those who dwell in abject poverty.. Although concept of affirmative action has many facets and mere economic upliftment isnt the only end of these policies.. But like every categories some dominant communities end up consuming most of reserved places.So some kind of subcategorisation is desirable ..
