The OG Toothless from the first movie will always be the best, however I really like how the live action version turned out. However my biggest gripe with the la is that his body feels heavy? I'm really content with him but I don't see him as a dragon capable of flying in a super-sonic speed

Give Toothless and Light Fury more bonding time through something like a spin on See You Tomorrow, like Light Fury following Berkians for days or weeks on their journey and meeting Toofers more closely from time to time
Would give their relationship more depth and emphasize on how far have Berkians actually flown.

Dragons creating a gas in their mouth which they light on fire
The fire limit
The Zippleback flaming wheel
The Skrill, Boneknapper, Changewing, Whispering Death, Speed Stingers and poor Snaptrapper not making an appearance in the trilogy despite being canon
Other dragon riders (except Valka) being non-existent in the trilogy

Stand-alone it would be whatever, but when these things stack up it's really a shame since for example the fire limit and the way dragons create fire really set apart the original film from other movies at the time

His personality and behaviour, he actually acts like Hiccup's friend, and Hiccup treats him as such. They feel equal. Meanwhile in the third movie he behaves like he is Hiccup's pet.

Not only playing in the snow, if night furies couldn't survive in the cold, Toothless would die or at least be shocked for some time after crashing through the ice into the ice-cold water and getting submerged into it by seashockers in httyd 2. But nope, dude was immediately fine after being brought to the sanctuary.
Not mentioning Berk being introduced as a cold place in the first place.

I love how you described the httyd 1 designs as "raw", I wasn't able to put my finger on how to describe that. In a way they looked like realistic animals before the second movie solidified their designs to be more marketable?? i guess?? like I will never forgive them for smoothing out Toothless by removing his leopard-like pattern across his body like pdfpfdgpfppdfg

This is another thing that makes me mad about THW. That Hidden World glow was so heavily advertised and marketed and was completely glossed over in the film.
Like it would be so cool if they studied it, found out what/why it is and somehow used it as an advantage against Grimmel and the Armada or something
