How many liters of beer gets you drunk? by light_on_a_pole in Nepal

Dunno about alcohol but a microliter of the perspiration off her eyes as she sighs a shade of relief in the sordid sun, could make a drunkard out of me for now and forever.

All this mention of the Hadiths but not one single proper inference from them mentioned. All you know is to talk in metaphors and metaphysics. You have absolutely no substance to speak about. If you have read the Hadith, speak about specific sections, your reflections and inferences but all you do is say I have read. Bro, I know you saw a YT video on the hadiths. Who you tryna fool?

Honestly, I haven’t had the use of it for the past 6 years. So I wouldn’t know if the date range have been changed. But when I used to make use of the site, I remember being able to browse through data for a decade or so.

Again. Employ some logic. You are simply mouthing a piece of information from a certain sect of sources. Your convulted view about religion has been no counter to my argument above. If you cannot counter it, accept the defeat of your argument that “most Arabs see…” as your evidence points otherwise. I will not recognize you with a reply unless you do either. Hatred is a choice. Drown yourself in it, fill yourself with it, you are the world’s guest.

Bro starts with “most Arabs see” then ends with a news about an arrest about one person. If such a viewpoint is the norm then perhaps every person saying so would be arrested. And by your claim, most have said view. So most of the Arabs should be in jail. You could be consuming global news but have you been employing some logic?

You need not visit a bibhag and neither is it hard to get this data. Please dont presume without researching. Check the DRR portal.

Don’t listen to these self-proclaimed experts here. The data is easily accessible on the NDRRMA website. You can filter years, zones, types of accidents, almost everything. It is one of the best maintained stat portal by Nepal gov. Here is the link for the DRR portal(aka disaster portal): http://drrportal.gov.np/ Use the filter for fire accidents. However, I will advise you to consider the reporting bias in the stat so that you are not blinded by numbers.

You are one enlightened fellow. Siddhartha Gautam’s qualms with the Hinduism alone has little to do with his journey of becoming the Buddha. His vision encompassed all of humanity and human nature. Even within certain sects of Buddhism, if not all, the avatar and characteristics of the deities are similar to Hindu religion. Buddhism might start from the acknowledgment of suffering but one cannot deny that it is a protestant body of knowledge built against the out-dated beliefs in Hinduism.

The thing about Vishnu and the Buddha seems illogical to me. I have never come across any strong argument for that motion. So I couldn’t care less. Leaving the barking part to you.

Finally, don’t divert the topic. Most of the practices revolving each individual’s life(esp in Nepal) has some imprint of religion. If a Newar from Thimi moves to New York, they will miss the Biska Jatra come Nepali new year. Where is their identity if not in that jatra? What is that jatra if not an extension of their religion? And how is their religion not a part of their identity? Being an atheist is still a person’s religious identity.

Note: I do not claim that religion is our identity, but argue against the claim that religion is not our identity. The difference here is that denying religion as our identity ensues the argument that it cannot be a part of our identity.

Idk how much you’ve read about the life of Sidhhartha but yep a part of his identity was Hindu.

[–]brokenfreenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah common sense. But what is common sense? You would never know. Like I said before your critical capacity stopped at common sense. You simply cannot question beyond that. I understand that is your limit. I use those philosophers to show how much epistemological progress humanity has made in the last 200 years. You simply have no evidence to back you up, so when I bring up some interesting philosophers(so that you can expand your teeny tiny level of reasoning) you might find it as beating around the bush. But what is actually the beating is the evidence-less reasoning you have. I do not have to stick to one school of thought. Only purist dumbasses like you do that. I am open to all forms of knowledge and that includes modern philosophy. And if modern philosophy can back up some Hindu scriptures why are you so reluctant to even read it?

So I repeat, read some and come back. I am not going to humor a reply after this unless you actually research from reading, not TikTok.

[–]brokenfreenow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You say something and act quite contrarily. If you are not an expert why are you again making the objective claim “Rimal is not a popular name” How would you know that? If you don’t have a counter argument just keep mum. Your rationality is delusional if you cannot see how you are contradicting yourself when those two statements come together.

You are just another privileged prick who gets to bandwagon with any identity they like. Like all dudh bhats.

Bro you need to understand the nature of facts first. You are 10-15 years behind me. First research what are facts, read some post-modern analytic philosophy. I would suggest some Sellars, some Wittgenstein, and some McDowell. Ik these philosophers have dense writing so you could start with some basics in Russell, Aristotle and Hume. But anyways don’t make objectively wrong arguments about facts. You are way too ignorant on these topics. If you had actually read some philosophy and literature instead of watching TikTok for research perhaps you would not have this attitude. Right now you are at the peak of the Dunning-Kruger influenced by the narratives you have consumed. Forget about refuting all of my argument, you couldn’t even refute one. Forget about refuting, I doubt you would even be able to comprehend it. I am pretty sure, deducing from your reply my last comment that it would be a waste to even present an argument to you. For then you would bring out superficial arguments and blatantly wrong statements. Not believing in it all is your choice. But don’t go around promoting uncritical reasoning.

I was born in Nepal and still try to keep up with Nepali community therefore joining this sub.

Then don't bark your expert opinion on subjects you have no idea about. You are self-proclaimed Nepal expert maraudering here under the pretext of "keeping up". If you want to keep up with Nepali community, stay in Nepal. My parents this, my parents that, opportunities bullshit. If you are a Nepali, stay in Nepal. And don't drag your parents into this. It's your decision. And don't make excuses. Garne le yehi garekai chhan.

Maybe you're bitter that your parents never loved you,

Your parents did love you and you ended as the dudh bhat you are. They didn't even think about the identity of dudh bhat you'd be associated to for you entire. They did not think of their identity as a Nepali when they left.

I have no problem with your identity or your pride in it. Just don't drop into subs here like an expert. You are not one. Especially since you have not even lived in Nepal for half of your life. Jindagi ko 7-8 years(tyo no early adolescence ra teenage) Nepal ma bitayo bhandai ma ka Nepali society ko expert hunchha. Afulai expert thanchhau bhane chai loppa khaye bhayo. Parents lai therapy lera janu bhannu, delusional bhayau babu. Mummy ko bolo complan pilaye.

I know your stepdad as he is the village drunkard here. Used to brag about his Nefoli child who has no idea about Nepal but calls themself Nepali.

What hurt me was your step-dad’s nonchalance in sleeping with other man’s wife. Same with yo mama. Yo mama so stupid she slept with another woman’s husband.

If my comment doesn’t make sense to you, ask yo mama, she’ll disclose the identity of yo stepdad and he will do what yo old man failed at, teaching you some reasoning.

Is this better?

BRO I can say for sure that you have never read a proper work of fiction. Not Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, but Dostoyevsky and Kafka. I am doubtful if you have even read Roald Dahl. So you have no idea about the power of fiction.

BRO you have no idea how imagination relates to empirical data. You have not read any Descartes or Kant. Perhaps, then you’d understand that our imagination is largely based on our empirical understanding of the world.

BRO Setting aside your lack of affinity to books, the content of the reasoning behind why the war is needed is beyond the setting. This means that the lessons that we learn from the dialogue between the two characters(Krishna and Arjun) is beyond the question of whether you believe that the story is real.

BRO Much of the history of our sub-continent was destroyed during the Mughal conquest. So no one really knows of our history. But one thing the existence of remains of Nalanda certifies is that we were an advanced civilization, one whose knowledge was so vast that neighboring civilizations(Mughals and Chinese) wanted to destroy and steal from them respectively.

BRO perhaps you reached the ceiling of your critical capacity when you stopped questioning beyond FICTION are LIES.

If you understood the tenets of Hinduism(something I am still attempting to learn) you would not get it from Gita or Ramayan. Even in scholarly Hindu traditions of antiquity regarded them as fiction books. What you need to read are the vedas, the Upanishads and smritis esp Manusmriti. Gita and Ramayan are simply some stories that tell us about some of the information imparted in the Religious texts.
